Trainwreck Wins ASA C/D In Itasca

Six Team - One day Event - On July 14th

ITASCA: Trainwreck posted a perfect 4-0 record to win the ASA Men's Class C/D Equalizer tournament played at the Itasca Park District Fields On July 14th over a field of six teams. Joltin' Joe's (2-2) took home second place with FAHQ Softball (2-2) finishing in third place and Assault (2-2) taking home fourth place from this event.
Trainwreck opened play with a first round game against the Benchwarmers with Trainwreck posting a huge 26-3 win onto the bracket board to advance into the second round of play.
Trainwreck met and defeated Aces High winning 18-2 to advance into the winner's bracket undefeated game. Aces High had received a first round bye to advance into this game against Trainwreck.
In the game that featured the last two remaining unbeaten teams Trainwreck and Joltin' Joe's locked up with each other with Trainwreck edging out Joltin' Joe's 12-10 to become the last remaining unbeaten team left in this tournament.
Now Trainwreck had to wait out the completion of the loser's bracket before they would know which team that they would be facing in the title game and when the loser's bracket was completed a rematch with Joltin' Joe's was on tap for the Trainwreck squad in the championship game.
Once again it was a close game and once again Trainwreck edged out Joltin' Joe's to win the game and the tournament title with a 11-10 victory.
Joltin' Joe's made it to the title game by receiving a first round bye before stopping Assault 19-6 in the second round of play. Assault had beaten PAHQ Softball 15-0 in the first round of tournament action to advance into this game against Joltin' Joe's.
Joltin' Joe's tasted defeat in their next game when they were beaten by Trainwreck in the winner's bracket finals dropping them into the loser's bracket where they met FAHQ Softball in a one game playoff to see which of these two team would earn the right to challenge unbeaten Trainwreck in the championship game. That team turned out to be Joltin' Joe's as they prevailed in a must win game 9-6 over FAHQ Softball to earn a second shot at playing Trainwreck in the tournament's championship game.
Joltin' Joe's gave it their all in the title game but on this Saturday they came a little bit short dropping a one run game to the Trainwreck by a final score of 11-10 to finish in second place at this tournament.
