National Berth
Thirty-one Teams Participate At
Majewski Complex In Mt. Prospect

MT PROSPECT: Traffic won the
thirty-one team, ASA Men's Sixteen Inch National Qualifier played
at the Majewski Complex in Mt. Prospect on June 11th with a perfect
5-0 record. The champions will now be playing at the 2005 ASA Men's
Sixteen Inch National Tournament over Labor Day Weekend. Red Star
(3-1) took home second place with both Punch (3-1) and the Registers
(3-1) tying for third place from this event.
Traffic opened tournament play with a first round contest against
the Grasshoppers and they posted a 6-0 win up onto the bracket board
to advance into the second round of action.
In their second round game it was the Traffic ball club sending
the Kings packing their cars for the trip home by a final score
of 6-0. he Kings had advanced to the second round by opening tournament
play with a 9-3 win over the Westside Outlaws in the first round
of tournament action.
In their quarterfinal game of this tournament Traffic squared off
with Menace and promptly posted another victory up onto the bracket
as they advanced with a 11-6 win over Menace. Menace made it to
the quarterfinals of this tournament by opening play with a 10-2
win over Finger Lickin' Good in the first round before stopping
Ten Deep 5-4 in the second round of tournament play.
In their semifinal game of this tournament it was Traffic taking
on and defeating the Registers 15-5 t move them into the tournament's
championship game. The Registers made it top the semifinal of this
tournament by opening play with a first round 11-6 win over the
Gladiators. In the second round the Registers stopped Out There
5-2 to advance into the quarterfinal round of the national qualifying
tournament. Next the Registers defeated Thunder 5-4 to move into
the semifinal round of this qualifier.
In the championship game Traffic and Red Star squared off against
each other with Traffic getting the better of it this day winning
a close game by the final score of 7-6 to claim the title and the
2005 ASA National Berth that goes with that title.

stats, highlights or quote son how they were able to win their 2005
ASA National Berth at this tournament.
Tournament runner up Red Star opened play by receiving a first round
bye in this thirty-one team event that was seeded by a blind draw.
In their first game playing in the second round Red Star meet and
defeated the Mavericks 10-4. The Mavericks had advanced into the
second round by defeating the Fighting 5th 12-11 in their opener.
In a quarterfinal game of this tournament it was Red Star over the
Riddlers 2-1 in a close game. The Riddlers made it to this quarterfinal
game by opening play with a 14-3 win over the Flames in the first
round of play before stopping the Snappers 2-1 in the second round
of action.
In the tournament's semifinal game Red Star and Punch locked horns
with each other and Red Star came out on top by a final score of
9-7 to put Red Star into the tournament's championship game. Punch
made it to the semifinals by opening against Unknown Players and
posting a 16-1 win up onto the bracket board. In the second round
Punch met and defeated Binge by a final score of 5-3. In the third
round it was Punch over Raiders 13-4 to move them into the semifinal
round of play.
The tournaments championship game was close and narrow game that
was decided by a single run with Punch coming out on the short end
of it losing to Traffic 7-6 and having to settle for second place
from this ASA National Qualifying Tournament.

stats, tournament highlights or quotes from their second place finish
at this tournament.
