Shockers Win USSSA Elite C

Six Team One Day Event On April 30th

AURORA: The Shockers from Janesville Wisconsin playing out of the Forest Hills League in Rockford won the Illinois USSSA Men's Class C Elite Tournament held at Turner Club in Aurora on April 30th with a perfect 4-0 record. Rope Club (2-2) took home second place with Creative Design (2-2) finishing in third place.
The Shockers opened tournament play with a 23-11 win over Creative Design in their opening contest. The Shockers improved to 2-0 with a 7-0 forfeit win over We're In the second round of play. In the winners bracket undefeated game it was the Shockers defeating Rope Club 23-14 to assure them of a spot in the championship game of this tournament against whichever team that would win the loser's bracket. A rematch with Rope Club was in store for the Shockers in the title game with the Shockers taking care of business 15-11 to win this tournament.

Rope Club opened tournament play with a wild high scoring game against the Hooded Frogs that saw them pull out an exciting 26-23 victory to start their tournament off on the right foot.
Game number two was a loss to the Shockers 23-14 sending the Rope Club into the loser's bracket finals needing to win in order to earn that second shot at the Shockers and the tournament title. The Rope Club did hat was needed of them as they defeated Creative Design 18-15 to earn another shot at the Shockers in this tournament.
The Rope Club gave it the gallant effort but they came up a little bit short this day losing to the Shockers 15-11 and having to settle for second place from this tournament after that loss.
