Shirts & Logo's / USSSA B/C NIT Co-Champions

Steve's Drywall / Rope Club from Chicago & Tapout / Worth from St Louis

JOLIET: Steve's Drywall / Rope Club (5-1) from Chicago stopped Tapout / Worth (3-1) from St. Louis, Mo 22-11 in the first championship game of the 6th Annual Shirts & Logo's USSSA Men's Class B/C NIT held at Inwood Sports Complex in Joliet on April 26th & 27th. Due to the late hour both teams agreed to split the top two prizes and head for home so no 'if necessary game' s played between these two ball clubs. DLB / Shockers from Chicago took home third place with Full Tilt (3-2) from Naperville finishing in fourth place. Full Tilt was the highest finishing Class C team in this B/C Nit so they also took home a 2008 USSSA Men's Class C World Tournament berth.
Tapout / Worth won the winner's bracket by opening play with a 15-2 win over Jaybee Auto / Coins Sports from Waukegan in the first round of play to advance into the semifinal of this eleven team event. Jaybee Auto / Coins Sports had defeated QC Insanity Rock Island 22-5 in a play in game to get into the bracket in order to face Tapout / Worth in the first round of play.
Tapout / Worth than stopped Steve's Drywall / Rope Club 32-18 in the semifinals of the winner's bracket to move into the tournament undefeated game.
In the battle of the last two remaining unbeaten teams of the Shirts & Logo's 6th Annual USSSA Men's Class B/C NIT Tapout / Worth defeated DLB / Shockers 18-9 to become the only unbeaten team left in this world tournament qualifying NIT. DLB / Shockers made it to the winner's bracket championship game by opening play with a first round bye before stopping KBI from Joliet 26-10 on Saturday. KBI had previously defeated Yep! Softball 25-10 in a play game to get into the tournament bracket.
On Sunday morning DLB / Shockers stopped the Hooded Frogs from Orland Park 19-18 in as semifinal game of the winner's bracket. This win put DLB / Shockers into the winner's bracket finals and a date to play Tapout / Worth. The Hooded Frogs had received a first round forfeit win over the KC Titians from Kansas City, MO who no showed at this tournament.
Tapout / Worth now had to sit and wait until the losers bracket play had been complete d before knowing which of the remaining teams would earn the right to challenge them in the title game. That team turned out to be Steve's Drywall / Rope Club who even their tournament record at 1-1 vs Tapout / Worth with a 22-11 win. Both teams agreed no to play the 'if necessary game' and split the top two prize packages from this tournament.
Steve's Drywall / Rope Club received a first round bye before talking on Full Tilt Softball and posting a 12-10 win up on the bracket board to move into Sunday morning's semifinal game of et winner's bracket. Full Tilt Softball had won their opener 23-16 over Paul Davis Restoration from Rockford to advance into this second round contest against Steve's Drywall / Rope Club.
On Sunday Steve's Drywall / Rope Club stub their toe right out of the chute by losing to Tapout / Worth 32-18 sending the Chicago based ball club into the loser's bracket.
Steve's Drywall / Rope Club rebounded from this loss to defeat KBI 31-19 and advance in the bracket.
Steve's Drywall / Rope Club than sent Full Tilt Softball to the parking lot after beating them 27-15. This win put Steve's Drywall / Rope Club into the loser's bracket championship game.
Now only DLB / Shockers stood between Steve's Drywall / Rope Club and a rematch with Tapout / Worth in the finals of this tournament. Steve's Drywall / Rope Club took care of business winning 15-10 to earn the right to play Tapout / Worth for the second time in this tournament.
Steve's Drywall / Rope Club kept their eyes on the team goal as they handed Tapout / Worth a loss by defeating them 22-11 to force the need to have the 'if necessary game' played between these two ball clubs in order to decide which of them will wear the crown of champion from this event.
The hour was late and both teams had players that needed to drive many hours to home for work the next day so the managers got together and agreed e not to play the extra game splitting the top two prizes of the 6th Annual Shirts & Logo's USSSA Men's Class B/C NIT between them.
