Sharks 2007 USSSA Women's Class D
State Champions

2nd Place Mood Swings From Schaumburg
The Mood Swings made it to the championship
game by opening play on Saturday morning with a first round game
against the Benchwarmers winning 15-10 to advance into the second
round of play at this tournament.
The Mood Swings and Culvers were matched with each other in the
second round of play in the winners bracket with Mood Swings posting
their second straight win onto the bracket board to advance by a
final score of 12-6. Culver's had to defeated Neighbors Bar &
Grill # 2 from Rockford 12-10 in the first round of play to advance
into this second round game against Moos Swings.
Late on Saturday afternoon Mood Swings and the Sharks squared off
in a semifinal game of the winner's bracket with Mood Swing getting
beaten by the eventual state champions 11-1 to drop the Schaumburg
based ladies into the loser's bracket where they now had to play
with their backs against the wall.
Now playing on Sunday morning Mood Swings started their day off
by hitting the ball as they beat Double D's 19-9.
Mood Swings than met and defeated Walsh Electrical Consultants in
a high scoring game 18-13 advancing them into the loser's bracket
finals.
Now only LPH Softball stood between Mood Swings and a chance at
gaining a little revenge over the team that had beaten them on Saturday,
the Sharks.
Mood Swings and LPH went at each other as both teams wanted a chance
to play the Sharks for the 2007 state title but only one could advance
and that team was Mood Swings who managed to post a 10-8 win onto
the bracket board to earn the chance at playing for the state title
against the Sharks.
Mood Swings gave everything that had left in their tank but fell
a little short as the Sharks complete their undefeated sweep of
the field of teams eliminating Mood Swings 10-8 to send the ladies
from Schaumburg home with second place from the 2007 Illinois /
Wisconsin Women's Class D State Tournament.
