Three Teams, One Day Event At Melas Fields In Arlington Heights

Roger Dorn Champions of I.S.A. Class E In Arlington Heights On July 29th

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS: Roger Dorn (3-2) after going 0-2 in the pool portion of the three team ISA Men's Class E Tournament held at Melas Fields in Arlington Heights on July 29th rebounded to go 3-0 to win the double elimination portion and the championship of this tournament. Chicago Hot Dogs (3-2) won the pool, play portion going 2-0 before finishing in second place in the double elimination tournament.
Chicago Hot Dogs was a perfect 2-0 in pool play as they defeated Eldridge Roofing 10-8 in their second contest the pool play portion of this tournament and ear the top seed in the double elimination tournament that was to follow.
Roger Dorn opened pool play with a 12-9 loss to Chicago Hot Dogs in their opening game. In their second and final pool play game Roger Dorn was defeated by Eldridge Roofing 11-5 to finish in third place in the pool portion of this tournament.
In the double elimination part of this tournament Roger Dorn and Eldridge Roof were matched up in the first round with Roger Dorn winning 16-3 to advance into the second round to play Chicago Hit Dogs. Roger Dorn was finding their stride at this time as they continued to hit as a team and defensively shut down their opponent with team defense as they defeated Chicago Hot Dogs 17-3 to win the winner's bracket of this tournament.
Now Roger Dorn had to sit and wait while Chicago Hot Dogs and Eldridge Roofing went toe too toe with the winner getting a second shot at Roger Dorn. It was Chicago Hot Dogs winning this head to head game against Eldridge Roofing 27-26 to earn that second chance at playing Roger Dorn in this double elimination tournament. Roger Dorn kept up their hot hitting and overall team defense as they smothered the Chicago Hot Dogs ball club with defense while burying them under an avalanche of hits winning 17-3 to win the title at this ISA Men's Class E tournament
