Rope Club / Tirabassi Wins ISA Class C/D

Ten Teams Participate at Melas Field In Arlington Heights On April 15th

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS: Rope Club / Tirabassi from Kenosha, Wisconsin went a perfect 5-0 to win the ten team ISA Men's Class C/D World Qualifying Tournament held at Melas Park in Arlington Heights on April 15th. The champions will be playing at the 2006 ISA Men's Class C World Tournament to be held in Rome, Georgia on August 25th & 26th. Sage/Posse Softball (3-2) from Crystal Lake took home second place with Chicago Steel (3-2) finishing in third place and Theresa Pizza (4-2) taking home fourth place from this tournament.
Rope Club / Tirabassi opened play with a pigtail game as they defeated Wing Stop (no scores from any of the tournament games were reported) to advance into the bracket. In the first round Rope Club / Tirabassi stopped Team Picnic from Rockford to move into the semifinal round of this tournament. Rope Club / Tirabassi than defeated Chicago Steel to become one of the last two undefeated teams, left in this event. Rope Club / Tirabassi won the winner's bracket by stopping Sage/Posse Softball in the undefeated game to assure the Wisconsin based ball club a of a spot in the tournament 's championship game against whichever team that would win the loser's bracket in order to challenge them for the tournament title and the berth to play ion Georgia.
As Rope Club / Tirabassi sat and watched the loser's bracket was played out and when it was over a rematch with Sage/Posse Softball was in store for Rope Club / Tirabassi in the title game. Once again Rope Club / Tirabassi rose to the task before them as they completed their undefeated run to the title at this ten team event and winning the berth to play at the 2006 ISA Men's Class C World Tournament in Georgia.
Tournament runner up Sage Posse Softball opened tournament play with a win over the Peckers from Wisconsin in the first round of tournament action In their second game Sage/Posse Softball stopped Theresa Pizza to move into the winner's bracket undefeated game where they met and lost to Rope Club / Tirabassi.
Now Sage /Posse Softball had to defeat Chicago Steel in order to get a second chance at playing Rope Club / Tirabassi and they did just that. But in the title game they came up on the short end of the final score to finish in second place at this event.
