Primetime Softball Wins USSSA C/D In Oswego

Eight Teams, One Day Event, On May 6th

Primetime Softball Champions Of USSSA C/D Equalizer At Oswego

OSWEGO: Primetime Softball from Joliet dropped their opening game of the eight team USSSA Men's Class C/D Equalizer event played at the Oswego High School in Oswego On May 6th before running off six straight wins including a double dipping of Full Title Softball who had beaten them in the first round of tournament play 11-10 and 10-5 to win the championship. Full Tilt Softball (3-2) from Naperville was second with Deerpath Development (2-2) from Oswego finished in third place with Bar One (2-2) from De Kalb taking home fourth place from this tournament.
Primetime Softball started out slow before finishing strong as they dropped their opener to Full Tilt Softball 10-7 in the first round of tournament play.
Now playing from the loser's bracket it was Primetime Softball getting their first win of the day when they defeated TSB Softball from Peoria 18-6 to advance in the bracket, next up for Primetime Softball was a date with Joe's On Weed Street / Storm from Chicago with the Joliet based ball club posting an 13-3 onto the bracket board to continue their advancement through the loser's bracket.
Next up for Primetime Softball was a game with Bar One and Primetime Softball kept rolling along as they won 11-5 to move into the loser's bracket finals. Now only Deerpath Development stood between Primetime Softball and a chance at getting even with Full Tilt Softball for beating them in the first round of play. Primetime Softball made the most of this opportunity by pounding out an 18-6 win to earn the right to oppose unbeaten Full Tilt in the championship game of this tournament.
Primetime Softball and Full Tilt went at one another in a tight game that was not settled until after the final play had been made and when that play had been recorded into the official score book the scoreboard read Primetime Softball 11 and Full Title Softball 10 evening the tournament at one loss each. The win by Primetime Softball force the need to play the 'if necessary game' between these two ball clubs in order to determine which of them would be the champion of this tournament. One game, the winner take all and Primetime Softball came to play as they used their overall team defense to shut down the Full Tilt Softball offensive attack winning 10-5 to claim the title to this tournament.
Full Tilt Softball made it to the championship game by opening play with a first round win over Primetime Softball 10-7 to advance in the winner's bracket. In the second round of play it was Primetime Softball over Shoeless Joe's from Mokena 13-3 to put the Naperville based ball club into the winner's bracket finals. Shoeless Joe's had beaten TSB Softball 14-11 in the first round of play to advance into this second round match up with Full Tilt Softball. In the undefeated game it was Full Tilt Softball winning the winner's bracket and assuring them of a spot in the tournament's championship game against whichever team that would win the loser's bracket when they stopped Deerpath Development 19-3. Deerpath Development made it to the championship game of the winner's bracket by opening play with a first round win over the Squad from Joliet 19-7, before beating Joe's On Weed Street / Storm 7-6 in a semifinal game of the winner's bracket.
Now Full Tilt Softball had to sit and wait until the loser's bracket was complete and when it was a rematch with their first round opponent Primetime Softball was in store for the Naperville ball club.
The first championship game was as close as any game could be a one run ball game with Full Tilt Softball coming up a single run short losing to Primetime 11-10. In the 'if necessary game' it was Primetime over Full Tilt Softball 10-5 to force Full Tilt Softball to accept second place from this tournament.
