Primetime Softball Wins USSSA Class C In Joliet

Six Teams, One Day Tournament At Inwood Sports Complex On May 13th

Primetime Champions Of USSSA Class C In Joliet On May 13th

JOLIET: Primetime Softball (3-1) from Joliet needed to bounce back in the 'if necessary game' to edge Money (3-2) from Orland Park 14-13 to win the six teams, May 13th Spring Classic USSSA Men's Class C National Qualifier played at the Inwood Sports Complex in Joliet. Yep! (3-2) from Burbank took home third place with K.G.B. / 14 (2-2) West form Lockport finishing in fourth place.
Primetime Softball opened play with a first round bye before taking on and defeating K.G.B. / 14 West 18-3 in the second round of play. Playing in the tournament's undefeated game it was Primetime Softball stopping Money cold by a final score of 17-2 to give the Joliet squad the title to the winner's bracket. Now Primetime Softball had to sit and wait until the loser's bracket was complete before knowing who they would be playing in the title game. When the loser's bracket was over it was a rematch with Money on tap for Primetime Softball in the finals of this tournament.
Money came out want to atone for their miserable showing in the first meeting between these two ball clubs and they accomplish hat they wanted by winning 12-8 to force the need to play the 'if necessary game' between these two ball clubs in order to be able to determine which of them would be the champion on this day. That extra game was everything that an 'if necessary game' should be, close and exciting and when it was over only one run separated these two ball clubs with Primetime Softball getting the better of it winning 14-13 to win the title to this tournament.
Money made it to the championship game by receiving a first round bye before taking on and defeating Yep! by a final score of 15-10 in the second round of play. Yep! had defeated the Wizards Softball from Schaumburg in the first round of play 16-15 to advance into this game against Money. Money than tasted defeat as Primetime Softball put a whipping on them 17-2 to drop the Orland Park based ball club into the loser's bracket where they needed to bounce back if they wanted a second chance at Primetime Softball in this tournament. Money did bounce back as they found their offense scoring thirteen run as the defeated Yep! 13-8. Now Money get a chance at a little revenge as they took the field to play unbeaten Primetime in the championship game, Money took their pound of flesh from Primetime Softball by beating them 12-8 to force the need to have the 'if necessary game' played between these two ball team in order to be able to determine which of them would be the tournament champion. In that extra game Money came up one run short losing to Primetime Softball 14-13 and with that loss were forced to accept second place prize package from this tournament.
