Later on Saturday night Robinson Plumbing and Aero Softball played each other in a semifinal game of the winner's bracket with Robinson Plumbing slipping past the Sandwich based ball club in a very close game 16-15 to continue their advancement in this tournament. Aero Softball made it into this semifinal game by opening play with a first round 7-6 win over Clanahan Chiropractic from Pekin and than stopping Kelly Glass from Peoria 19-10 in the second round of tournament action to earn their spot in this semifinal game of the winner's bracket.
On Sunday in the game between the last two remaining unbeaten teams it was Robinson Plumbing and the Wise Guys playing for the guarantee spot in the championship game that goes to the winner of this game. Robbins Plumbing kept their eyes on the ball as they slugged their way to the title to the winner's bracket by upending the Wise Guys 24-16 in the battle between the last two unbeaten teams left in this tournament.
Now Robinson Plumbing had to sit and wait until the loser's bracket was played out to its conclusion before knowing which of the remaining teams would win the loser's bracket earning them the right to oppose Robinson Plumbing in the championship game. That team turned out to be Players/Mizuno and it was a team on a hitting roll as they were piling up huge scores as they fought their way through the loser's bracket to play Robinson Plumbing in the state championship game.
Players/Mizuno continued their hot hitting ways as a team scoring thirty runs to defeated Robinson Plumbing 30-15 and force the need to have the 'if necessary game' played in order to determine which of these two remaining teams would earn the title as the 2005 ISA Men's Class D State Champions.
