Nine Teams Participate At Melas Fields In Arlington Heights

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS: Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers from Rockford won the 2007 Illinois ISA Men's Class C State Championship at Melas Fields in Arlington Heights on Saturday August 4th with a perfect 4-0 record. Full Tilt / Alpine machine (5-2) from Naperville finished in second place with the Hooded Frogs / Pole Katz / Focus (2-2) from Bridgeview taking third place and Tirabassi (3-2) from Kenosha, WI finishing in fourth place I this nine team one day event.
Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers opened play with a first round game against Tirabassi and promptly posted a 21-13 victory onto the bracket board to advance into the second round in the winner's bracket.
Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers took the field to play Chicago Steel from Itasca in the second round and won a close game 18-15 over them to advance into the winner's bracket finals. Chicago Steel had previously defeated Creative Design 20-19 in the first round of tournament action to advance into this semifinal game against Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers.
In the battle between the tournament last two remaining unbeaten teams Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers and the Hooded Frogs / Pole Katz / Focus took the field to play one another. In this game it was the Rockford based Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers getting the best of it winning 30-7 over the Hooded Frogs / Pole Katz / Focus to become the only unbeaten team left in this event. This win also assured them of a place in the tournament's championship game against whichever team that would emerge from the loser's bracket to challenge them in the title game. The Hooded Frogs / Pole Katz / Focus made it top the winner's bracket championship game by opening play with a first round win over Mulligan's from Mc Henry 20-10 to advance in the bracket. In a semifinal game of the winner's bracket the Hooded Frogs / Pole Katz / Focus and Players, Inc from Chicago were matched up against each other with the Hooded Frogs / Pole Katz / Focus getting the best of it winning 20-13 to put them into the winner's bracket unbeaten game where they played Paul Davis Restoration and lost.
Now Paul Davis Restoration needed to wait until the loser's bracket had completed all of its play before knowing which team they would be facing in the 2007 Illinois ISA Men's Class C State Championship game and that team turned out to be Full Tilt / Alpine Machine.
In the title game Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers and Full Tilt went at one another with everything in their arsenals giving everyone in attendance a great game to watch. And, when it was over Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers managed to escape with a one run win as they edged Full Tilt / Alpine Machine 23-22 to become the 2007 Illinois ISA Men's Class C State champions.
Full Tilt / Alpine Machine made it to the 2007 Illinois ISA Men's Class C State championship game by opening play with a pigtail game against Trainwreck from Arlington Height to get into the bracket and Full Tilt / Alpine Machine posted a15-10 onto the bracket board to earn a place in a first round game against Players, Inc.
In this first game Full Tilt / Alpine Machine fell to Players, Inc by a final score of 12-10 dropping them into the loser's bracket.
Once in the loser's bracket Full Tilt /Alpine machine got everything working as they started their march towards the championship game with a 23-11 win over Mulligan's.
Next Full Tilt / Alpine Machine eliminated Chicago Steel in a one run game by the finals score of 16-15.
Next Full Tilt / Alpine Machine and Tirabassi hooked up with one another next with the Naperville based Full Tilt / Alpine Machine posting yet another win up on to the bracket board by a finals score of 13-10. This win put Full Tilt / Alpine Machine into the loser's bracket finals where they met up with the Hooded Frogs / Pole Katz / Focus in a game where the winner would earn the right to challenge unbeaten Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers in the 2007 Illinois ISA Men's Class C State championship game. Full Tilt / Alpine Machine won this game by a final score of 15-12 to earn the right to play in the state championship game against Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers.
The Rockford based Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers won the state championship over Full Tilt / Alpine Machine in a close game by the final score of 23-11 to send Full Tilt / Alpine Machine home with second place from the 2007 Illinois ISA Men's Class C State Tournament.
