Orange Krush Wins USSSA D/E Equalizer In Crete

Six teams Participate at Heritage Field In Crete on June 3rd

CRETE: Orange Crush (4-0) won the USSSA Men's Class D/E Equalizer qualifier played at Heritage Park in Crete on played on June third by sweeping to two wins to win their pool and than adding two more wins in the single elimination tournament that followed pool play that was seeded according to how each team finished in pool play. P.J. Collectables (3-1) finished in second place with Jolt'n' Joe's/Balls Deep (2-2) and Greys (1-3) finishing in a tie for third place.
Orange Krush opened their pool play with a 14-4 win over the Dirtbags # 2 in the opening game before stopping WSAD-Chicago Mustangs 19-8 in their second game to win their three team pool and receive a bye in the first round of the single elimination tournament. In the tournament Orange Krush defeated Jolt'n' Joe's/Balls Deep 7-6 in the semifinal round. In the championship game it was Orange Krush locking horns with P.J. Collectable with both teams entering the game undefeated. When the dust settled back down on the infield after the last out had been recorded into the official score book the scoreboard read 15-5 in favor of the Orange Krush ball club as they completed their undefeated run to the tournament championship.
Tournament runner up from Gary, Indiana also went 2-0 in pool play as they stopped Jolt'n' Joe's/Balls Deep 19-9 in their opening game before handing the Greys an 18-8 defeat in the second round of pool play. These two wins earned P.J. Collectable a first round bye in the six team single elimination tournament before playing the Greys for second time in the semifinals. Once again it was all P.J. Collectables as they trounced the Greys 22-9 to advance into the tournament championship game. In the game that feature two unbeaten teams with the tournament title at stake P.J. Collectable and Orange Krush locked horns with one another. It was the Orange Krush 's day as they sent P.J. Collectable back to Indiana with a second place finish after beating them 15-5 in the deciding game of the tournament.
