39th Annual Forest Park 'No Glove'

The title game was all the Miller Forty-fives
as they put on an impressive show winning 15-2 to claim the title
to the 39th Annual Forest Park 'No Glove national Invitational Tournament.
Windy City Softball made it to the championship game by opening
play with a first round bye before they stopped the Lounge 12-5
in the second round of play on Friday evening. The Lounge had defeated
Tilt 8-7 on Thursday nigh in the first round of tournament action
to advance into this game against Windy City.
On Saturday Evening Windy City Softball met up with Hype and came
away with a 7-1 win in the third round of tournament play advancing
them into the semifinal round of the winner's bracket later on that
Saturday evening. Hype made it this third round game against Windy
City Softball by opening the tournament with a first round bye before
stopping the Lemons 16-4 in the second t-round of play late on Friday
evening to earn their way into this game against Windy City Softball.
In a close game Windy City Softball and Maxim matched defensive
play against defensive play through their entire game but when the
last play had been written down into the official scorer's book
the scoreboard dread 4-3 in favor of Windy City Softball as they
advance into Sunday afternoon battle between the last two remaining
unbeaten teams left in this tournament. Maxim made it to this semifinal
game of the winner's bracket by opening play with a first round
bye before stopping Crush in a close game 11-10 in the second round
of play on Friday evening. Maxim won their third round game on Saturday
evening as they defeated Entourage16-8 to advance into this semifinal
game against Windy City.
On Sunday afternoon Windy City Softball was upended by the Miller
Forty-fives 14-6 to drop them into the loser's bracket where they
met Mudville in a game with the loser getting third place and the
winner getting to challenge the unbeaten Miller Forty-fives in the
title game. Windy City Softball won an arrow one run victory over
Mudville edging them 3-2 to earn the right to play the Miller Forty-fives
for the second time on this Sunday.
Windy City Softball now faced with the task of having to beat the
Miller Forty-fives two straight game took the field to play them
in the championship game but the Miller Forty-fives came out on
fire and Windy City Softball was forced to accept second place from
the 39th Annual Forest Park 'No Glove' National Invitational Tournament
after losing 15-2 to the Miller Forty-fives in the title game.
