Stover had build an 8-4 led entering
the bottom of the third inning when the Bucketheads found their
bats again scoring three runs to narrow the gap down to a single
run trailing 8-7. Neither team score until the bottom of the fifth
inning when the Bucketheads plated two runs to take a 9-8 lead in
this game. Stover was held scoreless in the top of the sixth inning
by the Bucketheads who than used their turn at bat to put this game
away by scoring four more runs to win 13-8.
This win earned the Bucketheads the right to play the Miller Forty-five
in the 2005 ASA Men's Sixteen Inch national championship game.
The Bucketheads could not get it going in the national championship
game as they fell to the defending champions the Miler Forty-fives
5-1 to finish in second place at this years ASA Men's Major Sixteen
Inch national championship tournament.
The Bucket head did not provide Illinois Softball Report with any
team information, stats, highlights or quotes on how they were able
to finish in second pale at this tournament.
