Jolt'n Joe's Reapers Wins USSSA D/E In Crete

Eight Teams Participate At Heritage Field In Crete On July 8th

CRETE: Jolt'n Joe's / Reapers from Steger went a perfect 6-0 to win the USSSA Men's Class D/E tournament played at Heritage Park in Crete on July 8th. The eight teams entered were divided into two pool of four teams each playing a round robin (three games per team) plus a single elimination tournament followed (seeded from the pool play results) giving each team enter a minimum of four game per team. The champions Jolt'n Joe's / Reapers earned a berth to play at the 2006 USSSA Men's Class D Great Lakes National Tournament to be held over Labor Day Weekend in Sterling Heights, MI. Second place at this event was taken home by Milk Jugs (4-2) from Tinley Park, third place went to Precision (4-1) from Lemont and fourth place went to Sicilian Joe's / Green Door (3-2) from Steger.
The champions to be Jolt'n Joe's / Reapers opened their pool play with an 11-4 win over Al's Tap from Lansing. In their second pool play game it was Jolt'n Joe's / Reapers defeating Jolt'n Joe's Balls Deep from Sauk Village 14-13. In their final pool game Jolt'n Joe's / Reapers stopped the Milk Jugs cold by a final score of 12-2 to win their pool undefeated.
In the single elimination tournament Jolt'n Joe's / Reapers met the One Timer's/30 Buck Sports Bar from Joliet and sent them to their cars to pack for the trip back home after beating them 15-10 to advance in the bracket. In their semifinal contest of this tournament it was Jolt'n Joe's / Reapers and Sicilian Joe's / Green Door going head to head with the Steger ball club winning 16-6 to put them into the tournament's championship game.
The title game was a match up with the Milk Jugs with Jolt'n Joe's / Reapers completing their undefeated run to the tile by winning 20-11.
The Milk Jugs made it to the championship game by going 2-1 in pool play as they won their opener over Jolt'n Joe's Ballz Deep 17-7. Pool play game number two was a 11-10 win over Al's Tap to set up the first show down game of the between two undefeated teams, the Milk Jugs and Jolt'n Joe's / Reapers with the Milk Jugs coming out on the short end of a 12-2 final score.
In the single elimination Tournamtn that followed the pool play portion of this tournament the Milk Jugs opened with a game against Jolt'n Joe's Double J's from Beecher and the Tinley Park ball club posted a 16-6 win onto the bracket board to advance in the tournament. In their semifinal game it was the Milk Jugs over Precision 11-8 to advance them into the championship game where they met and lost to Jolt'n Jo's Reapers 20-11 to finish in second place at this tournament.
