Jim Burch Realty Wins ISA Tavern State

Eleven Teams Participated - Brickhouse Complex In Urbana

URBANA: Jim Burch Realty won the eleven teams ISA Tavern State Tournament held at the Brickhouse Complex in Urbana on July 15th with a perfect 5-0 record. Kelly Glass ( (4-2) was second with Burton/Brenneman (3-2) was third with Uptown (2-2) taking home fourth place from this event. Jim Burch Realty was led by the play of Troy Walker who was named as the Most Valuable player in this tournament. Joining Walker on the All-Tavern State Tournament team were his Jim Burch Realty teammates John Nolen, Dennis Stahl, Chad Dalton, Mike Todd and Vashoune Russuel
Jim Burch Realty opened tournament play with a play in game against Duber's Tap winning 10-4. In their first round game they were matched up with Dozer's and came a way with a one run victory as the finals score of 7-6 in favor of Jim Burch Realty was posted onto the bracket board.
Later on Saturday afternoon Jim Burch Realty and Uptown hooked up with one another with Jim Burch Realty getting everything going both offensively and offensively as they won easily 21-3 to advance into the winners bracket finals. Uptown had defeated Head First 7-6 in the first round of play to move into this semifinal game against Jim Burch Realty.
In the game that featured the last two remaining unbeaten teams at the 2006 ISA Men's Tavern State Tournament it was Jim Burch Realty and Kelly Glass going toe to toe. Jim Burch Realty got the better of it winning 7-2 to become the only unbeaten team left in this tournament and also assure them of a spot in the championship game to be played later that night.
Now Jim Burch Realty need to sit back and watch as the loser's bracket need to be played out to its conclusion before they would know which of the remaining teams would earn the right to oppose them in the title game. After the last out had been record into the official score's book a rematch with Kelly Glass awaited Jim Burch Realty in the title game. Jim Burch Realty was a team on a mission and they complete that mission with a 17-7 in over Kelly Glass to become the 2006 ISA Tavern State champions.
Kelly Glass's Randy Jusken led his ball club and was named as the tournament's 'Outstanding Defensive Player'. He was joined on the 2006 ISA Men's All-State Tavern Tournament team by his Kelly Glass teammates; Davis Wallace, Tommy Brenwstall, Chad Clift and Doc McCavett.
Kelly Glass made it to the state championship game by opening play with a play in game also was they defeated Long & Hard in a close game 12-11 to advance into the bracket.
Kelly Glass and Wired Shut went at it next with Kelly Glass winning another one run game by the identical score of 12-11 to continue their advancement in the bracket. Wires Shut had receive a first round bye and were playing in their opening game of this tournament against Kelly Glass.
Kelly Glass and Burton / Brenneman went at each other in a semifinal game of the winner's bracket with Kelly Glass getting the better of it on this afternoon winning 5-1 to move into the winner's bracket's undefeated game. Burton / Brenneman had defeated HRC 19-11 in a play in game before stopping Babe's Tap 17-2 in the first round to advance into this semifinal game of the winner's bracket against Kelly Glass.
In the battle of the last two unbeaten teams Kelly Glass came up on the short end of a 7-2 score to drop them into the loser's bracket finals where they had a rematch with Burton / Brenneman and for the second time on this Saturday Kelly Glass defeated Burton Brenneman by a final score of 15-11 to earn a second chance at playing Jim Burch Realty and also playing for teh2006 ISA Men's Tavern State title.
Kelly Glass gave it all that that left in their tank but it was not enough as Jim Burch Realty finished them off by a final score of 17-7 to send Kelly Glass back to Peoria with a second place from the 2006 ISA Men's tavern State Tournament.
