Ice Wins 2006 Killer B's At Kolar Park In Cicero

Twenty-six Teams Entered In The Annual Sixteen Inch B Tournament

CICERO: Ice won the 2006 Killer B's Sixteen Inch Tournament played at Kolar Field in Cicero on August 4th through 6th by going a perfect 5-0 to win the twenty-six team event. The Longballs (4-1) finished in second place with both Primetime (2-1) and Kid Cocks (2-1) tying for third place. Compadres (5-1) won the consolation bracket with Venom (3-2) finishing as the consolation runner-up at this years tournament.
Ice opened play on Friday evening with a 9-4 win over Venom to open their tournament schedule. On Saturday afternoon it was Ice defeating Hax 8-5 to advance into the round of eight teams. Hax had stopped the Cicero Police 8-6 on Friday evening in the first round to advance into this game with Ice. On Sunday afternoon Ice took the field to play Bullet Proof and posted a 16-8 win up onto the bracket board to advance into the semifinals. Bullet Proof made it to this game by opening play on Friday evening with a 10-1 win over BK Legends in the first round before stopping Above the Law 8-7 in the second round on Saturday afternoon. In their semifinal game of this tournament Ice met and defeated Kid Cocks 9-6 to move into the championship game. Kid Cocks made it to the semifinals by opening play with a first round bye before defeating the Compadres 8-0 on Saturday afternoon.
In the championship game it was Ice over the Longballs 14-13 to win the title to the 2006 Killer B's tournament.
The Longballs made it to the championship game by opening play with a first round win over Michael Anthony's 8-3 on Friday evening. On Saturday morning the Longballs met and defeated Vagabonds 13-2. The Vagabonds had won on Friday night over Strokin 8-5 to advance into this second round contest with the Longballs.
On Sunday with eight teams left in the winner's bracket the Longballs took the field to play Guilty and came away with an 11-9 win to advance into the semifinal round of this tournament. Guilty made it to the round of eight by opening play on Friday night with a 15-5 win over Punishment before stopping Swalls 16-6 on Saturday. On Sunday afternoon playing in a semifinal game the Longballs and Prime Time hooked up with one another and the Longballs got the better of it winning 5-2 to advance into the championship game of this year's Killer B's Tournament. Prime Time made it into the semifinals of this year's tournament by opening play with a first round bye before stopping the Gamecoock 14-7 in the second round on Saturday morning. Earlier on Sunday Prime Time and No Fear played in the round of eight teams with Prime Time winning 22-6 to advance into this game with the Longballs in a semifinal round of this year's Killer B's Tournament. The Longballs finished in second place at the 2006 Killer B's Tournament when they were defeated by Ice 14-13 in the championship game.
Compadres won the 2006 Killer B's Consolation Tournament by winning their first game on Friday evening in a play in game over Stars & Stripes who no showed at this year's tournament. On Saturday they were defeated by the Kid Cocks 8-6 to send them into the 'Consolation Bracket' Once in the consolation bracket the Compadres slipped past Runs in the first round 1-0 to advance into the next round of play where they met and defeated the Swalls 15-3. Now playing in the consolation semifinal round the Compadres met and defeated the Raw Dogs 13-11 to advance into the consolation championship game where they took home the title by beating Venom 11-1.
Venom made it to the consolation championship game by opening play 9-4 loss to Ice on Friday evening. Once in the consolation bracket Venom went to work as they defeated the Cicero Police 1-0 to advance in the bracket. Next up was a game with Punishment and Venom won again defeating Punishment 16-6 to advance into semifinal round of the consolation bracket of the 2006 Killer B's Tournament. Venom and Michael Anthony's went toe to toe with Venom winning 15-8 to earn them the right to play against the Compadres in the 2006 Killer B's consolation championship game of the Tournamtn. Venom came in second place after losing to the Compadres 11-1 in the 2006 Killer B's consolation bracket championship game.
