Hooded Frogs / Darcy Motors Win ASA C/D

Nine Team Tournament In ArlingtonHeights On April 5th & 6th

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS: The Hooded Frogs / Darcy Motors from Bridgeview won the nine team ASA Men's Class C/D Equalizer Tournament held at Melas Fields in Arlington Heights on April 5th & 6th with a perfect 4-0 record. Shoeless Joe's (3-2) from Orland Park finished in second place and also were the highest finishing class D team in this event. Full Tilt (4-2) from Naperville took home third place with Trainwreck (2-2) from Arlington Heights finishing in fourth place.
The Hooded Frogs / Darcy Motors opened play on Saturday morning with a 23-13 win over Full Tilt in the first round of play.
In Saturday's second game the Hooded Frogs / Darcy Motors met and defeated Women's Touch Painting / Big Shots from Kenosha, WI 11-1 to advance into Sunday's winner's bracket championship game. Women's Touch Painting / Big Shots had won their opening game 15-2 over Team Elite from Arlington Heights to advance into this second round contest with the Hooded Frogs / Darcy Motors.
On Sunday morning the Hooded Frogs / Darcy Motors put their hitting shoes run as they poured nineteen runs across the pay-station stopping Shoeless Joe's 19-10 to become the lone unbeaten team left in this tournament.
The Hooded Frogs / Darcy' Motors had to wait until the loser's bracket had concluded all of its scheduled game before knowing that a rematch with Shoeless Joe's was on tap for them in the title game. The Hooded Frogs / Darcy Motors again laced up their hitting shoes as they poured another nineteen runs across the pay-station wining 19-5 to complete their unbeaten run to the title of this early season ASA Men's Class C / D Equalizer tournament.
Tournament runner-up Shoeless Joe's opened tournament play with an impressive 15-0 win over Trainwreck to start their day off on Saturday with a bang.
Game two on Saturday paired Shoeless Joe's against Rock Enterprises and Shoeless Joe's won impressively 18-8 to advance into the winner's bracket championship game on Sunday.
Rock Enterprises had stopped the Savages 15-2 earlier on Saturday to advance into this second round contest against Shoeless Joe's.
On Sunday Shoeless Jo's ran into a buzz saw losing to the Hooded Frogs / Darcy Motors 19-10 in the undefeated game of this tournament.
Now Shoeless Joe's had to regroup and play Full Tilt for the right to challenge unbeaten Hooded Frogs / Darcy Motors in the title game. Shoeless Joe's took care of business winning 9-3 to earn a second chance at upending the Hooded Frogs / Darcy Motors.
But that was not to be as the Hooded Frogs / Darcy Motors ended Shoeless Joe's Dream of coming back to win this tournament with a 19-6 win in the championship game over Shoeless Joe's to send the Orland Park ball club home with second place honors from this event.
