Hogans Roofing Wins Cash

 

Arlington Heights: Hogan's Roofing from Crystal Lake won the fall $5000 Cash Tournament played at Melas Park in Arlington Heights on October 6th with a 7-1 record over a field of twenty-four teams. The champions made a long run through the losers bracket three home run limit tournament played on 275' fences and double dipped Big Brown Star from Elmhurst to take home the top prize.
Hogan's Roofing opened play in the twenty four-team double elimination event with a first round bye before defeating Flintstones in the second round of play.
Part-N-Clowns were Hogan's Roofing second victim as they advanced to the semi-finals of the winners bracket.
The semi-finals were not kind to the Crystal Lake Ball club as the Shockers from Janesville, WI put them into the losers bracket..More

Slammers Win ASA D Eastern Nationals

Valdosta, GA: Joltin' Joe's from Hainesville finished 9th at the ASA Men's Class D Nationals held in Valdosta, GA on September 20-24. Slammers from Illinois won this 100+ team event put did not supply Illinois Softball Report with any information on how they accomplished this.
Seven Illinois teams participated in this ASA National, the others were; 13th Lookouts Lansing, 4-2 17th Grumpy Old Men Tinley Park, 5-2, 33rd Bandits Plainfield, 2-2, 33rd Chill Softball Aurora, 2-2, and 65th Fairfield Battlecats Fairfield, 0-2..More

The Illinois NSA reported that 61 Illinois slow-pitch teams participate at NSA World Tournaments in 2001 at finished as follows:
Men's A: Kluever Snap-On/Easton 7th, Phone Masters/TPS & Ken Adams Softball tied for 9th.
Men's B: Wombats 7th, Cando Metals & All-Star Diner tied for 17th.
Men's C: Grim Reaper 1st, LT's 5th, Explosion 7th, 6-4-3 & Miller Lite/Sportin Wood 9th, Pekin Downtown Auto Sales 13th, Firehouse 17th, and Meyer's Paving 33rd.
Men's D: Culvers 1st, Slick Rick's 2nd, Chill Softball 5th, Diamond Brothers 13th, Zoo, Alpha's Bar 17th, Alton Eagles 25th, Venom, Black Ice 33rd, Duck City, Orange Crush 49th, Belleville Ice, Pie Guys, Public Enemy, Basehit.com, Team Tonka, Demolition, Donkey's. USL Chubby's, Alco White, Dave's Pizza, 65th and Pro Comm 97th.
Men's E: Gators 4th, Bill's Art Company, Tyler Distributing 9th, No Dogs, Kelly Glass 17th, Fairfield Builders 25th and JD & Company, Dogg Pound, Happy Hour 33rd.
Industrial Competitive: Hi-Way Motors 9th.
Industrial Recreational: Pekin Down Town Auto 1st, Lynn's Whiplash 5th, Executioners 13th and IN Force Die Hard 17th.
Women's D: Budlight 5th and Changes-Arby 17th.
Coed C: Plummer Softball 4th, O.T.L./S.B.C. 5th, Miss N Hitters, Loading Zone 9th, Meijer Softball, Can-Do Metals 13th, and Peotone Bowl 17th.
Coed D: Gloom & Doom 2nd.
Coed E: Finish Line 5th, and Brown Jug 9th.
