Hooded Frogs/PoleKatz/Fokus Wins ASA C/D In Itasca

Ten Teams Particate On June 16th In Equalizer Tournament

ITASCA: The Hooded Frogs/PoleKatz/Fokus from Bridgeview won the ten team ASA Men's Class C/D Equalizer Tournament played at Itasca on June 16th with perfect 4-0 record. Joltin' Joes (4-2) from Hainesville took home second place and the top D prize package with their play in this event. Third place went to Assault (2-2) with Voodoo Lounge (3-2) finishing in fourth place.
Hooded Frogs/PoleKatz/Fokus opened play with a first round 15-13 win over Voodoo Lounge. Voodoo Lounge had to win a pig tail game over Trainwreck 12-10 to advance into the first round match-up with Hooded Frogs/PoleKatz/Fokus.
In their semifinal contest against Joltin' Joes Hooded Frogs/PoleKatz/Fokus came away with a 15-8 win to advance into the winner's bracket finals. Joltin' Joes had defeated Rival Softball in the first round of play to advance into this match-up against Hooded Frogs/PoleKatz/Fokus.
In the game between the last two remaining unbeaten teams it was Assault taking on Hooded Frogs/PoleKatz/Fokus with the Bridgeview based ball club winning a close game 6-5 to become the only unbeaten team left in this tournament. Assault made it to the winner's bracket championship game by opening play with a win over South Side Connection in the first round of play before stopping The Grays 18-7 in the second round to earn their spot opposite of Hooded Frogs/PoleKatz/Fokus in the undefeated game.
Hooded Frogs/PoleKatz/Fokus now had to sit back and wait until the loser's bracket was played out to its conclusion before knowing which team would be their opponent in the title contest. That team turned out to be Joltin' Joes. Joltin' Joes having already earned the top Class d prize package available decided not to play the final game forfeiting to Hooded Frogs/PoleKatz/Fokus and taking home second place from this tournament.
Joltin' Joes made it to the championship game by opening play with a first round win over Rival Softball before dropping their second game to Hooded Frogs/PoleKatz/Fokus 15-8 to drop into the loser's bracket.
Once in the loser's bracket Joltin' Joes made their presents felt as they eliminated Trainwreck first by an 11-9 final score. Next to exit this tournament at the hands of Joltin' Joes was Voodoo Lounge after Joltin' Joes posted a 12-9 win to advance in the bracket over them. Assault was shown the door in the loser's bracket finals by a final score of 13-7 to earn Joltin' Joes the top Class D prize available from this tournament.
