Hey Bryan's Win's ASA Women's Class
C State
Eleven Teams Particapate At East
Mioline On August 5th & 6th

EAST MOLINE: Eleven teams gathered
in East Moline on August 5th & 6th to play at the 2005 ASA Women's
Class C State Tournament with Hey Bryan's from East Moline going
4-0 to win the state title. QMG/Titian Wheel (4-2) from Quincy finished
in second place, The Ridge (4-2) from Ridgefarm was third, Schooner's
(2-2) from Peoria finished in fourth place with both Leander Construction
( 1-2) from Canton and Bob's Black Top (2-2) from East Moline finishing
in a tie for fifth place.
Hey Bryan's opened play with a first round game against the Ridge
and promptly posted a 10-8 win up onto the bracket board to move
into the semifinal of the winner's bracket. The Ridge had to win
a pigtail game 10-0 over Blue Moon from Elkhart in order to advance
into the first round of this year's state tournament bracket.
Hey Bryan's and Schooners squared off with each other in the semifinal
round of this years state tournament with Hey Bryan's coming away
with an impressive 13-0 win to move into the winner's bracket championship
game. Schooner's advanced into this semifinal game by defeating
Spoon River from Canton 13-2 in the first round of this tournament.
In the head to head game between the last two remaining unbeaten
teams it was QMC/Titian Wheel and Hey Bryan's playing each other
with Hey Bryan's winning impressively by a final score of 13-0 as
the ladies from East Moline claimed the title to the winner's bracket
assuring them a spot in this year ASA Women's Class C State tournament's
championship game against whichever team that win the loser's bracket
to earn the right to oppose them in the title game.
Now Hey Bryan's needed to sit and wait until the loser's bracket
was played out to its conclusion before finding out that they would
be playing QMC/Titian Wheel again in the championship game. Hey
Bryan left no doubt as to which team would be the 2005 ASA Women's
Class C state champion as they won going away 16-0 to completed
their undefeated run to the state title that included the consecutive
shut outs!
Illinois Softball Report did not receive any team information, stats,
highlights or quotes from Hey Bryan's on how they were able to win
this 2005 ASA Women's Class C State Tournament.
Tournament runner-up QMC/Titian Wheel opened tournament play with
a pigtail game against Lesaganich from Peoria and advanced after
put a 7-3 victory up on the scoreboard to move into the first round
of the tournament.
QMC/Titian Wheel stopped Bob's Black Top 10-0 in the firs t round
of the tournament to improve to 2-0 and move into the semifinal
round of the2005 ASA Women's Class C State tournament.
In the semifinal's of this tournament QMC/Titian Wheel and Leander
Construction tangled in a close hard fought game with QMC/Titian
Wheel coming out on top by the finals score of 4-2 to put the ladies
from Quincy into the winner's bracket championship game. Leander
Construction made it to this semifinal game winning their first
round game against Aquativa from Galesburg 14-4.
QMC/Titian Wheel got steamrolled by Hey Bryan's in the game between
the tournament last two remaining unbeaten teams by a final score
of 13-0 to drop the ladies from Quincy into the loser's bracket
championship game were they met the Ridge and in a very close game
escaped with a narrow 3-2 victory to earn the right to have a rematch
with Hey Bryan's in the championship game.
This weekend belonged to Hey Bryan's as QMC/Titian Wheel was forced
to accept second place from the 2005 ASA Women's Class C Illinois
State tournament after being beaten 16-0 in the final game.
QMC/Titian Wheel did not provide Illinois Softball Report with any
team information, stats, highlights or quotes ion how thy ewer able
to achieve their second place finish from this 2005 Illinois ASA
Women's Class C State tournament.
