Hell Yea Wins Miller Lite "Kiss-It' Class D

Twenty-five Teams Participated At Lippold Park on July 8th & 9th

Hell Yea The 2006 Miller Lite 'Kiss-It' Class D Champions

CRYSTAL LAKE: Hell Yea From Schaumburg went a perfect 5-0 to win the 2006 Miller Lite 'Kiss-It' softball tournament held at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake on July 8th & 9th over a field of twenty-five teams. The champions earned a berth to play at the 2006 USSSA Men's Class D Great Lakes National Tournament to be held Sterling Heights, MI over Labor Day Weekend. Northwest Pallet / Starbusters (5-2) from Woodstock finished in second place, with Plano Legion/Vineyard Liquors (3-2) from Plano was third. Fourth place went to Amy Plumbing / Road Dawgs (5-2) from Crystal Lake as both Rigid Construction / Little Anthony's (4-2) from Rockford and Joltin' Joe (3-2) from Hainesville tied for fifth place with both McGaffer's / Caps Fury (4-2) from Lombard and Landmark (3-2) from Lake In The Hills finished in a tie for seventh place.
Hell Yea opened tournament play on Saturday with a first round bye before taking on and defeating Joe's On Weed Street from Chicago 23-20 to advance in the bracket. Joe's On Weed Street had previously defeated Stiff Competition from Hanover Park 15-12 in the first round of tournament play to earn the right to play Hell Yea in the second round of action.
On Saturday afternoon it was Hell Yea and the Ice House Dogs mixing it up with one another as Hell Yea prevailed by a final score of 20-8 to move into the semifinal round of the winner's bracket on Sunday. Ice House Dogs made it to the third round in the winner's bracket by defeating Team from Elgin 15-12 in the first round before defeating Tidal Wave from Elgin 11-8 in the second round of tournament play.
On Sunday Hell Yea And Northwest Pallet / Starbusters went toe to toe in a semifinal game of the winner's bracket with Hell Yea coming out on top and winning by the final score of 13-10. This win advanced Hell Yea into the winner's bracket undefeated game.
In the battle between the tournaments last two remaining unbeaten teams it was Hell Yea and Plano Legion / Vineyard Liquors tangling with each other. When the last out had been recorded into the official's scores book the score board read 10-8 in favor of Hell Yea. Plano Legion / Vineyard Liquors made it to the winner's bracket championship game by opening play with a first round bye before stopping Lovell's from De Kalb 17-7 in the second round of tournament play. Plano Legion / Vineyard Liquors finished Saturday as one of four unbeaten teams as they stopped Rigid Construction 14-7 to move into Sunday's semifinal round of this tournament. On Sunday Plano Legion / Vineyard Liquors and Joltin' Joe hooked up with one another and when it was over the Plano based ball club won yet another game stopping Joltin' Joe by a score of 12-3. This win put them into the undefeated game with Hell Yea.
Now Hell Yea needed to sit and wait as the loser's bracket was played out to its conclusion and when it was over Hell Yea! looked out to see Northwest Pallet / Starbusters as the team still standing and have earned the right to oppose them in the championship game.
Hell Yea had a mission to complete and they went about their business winning the title game 9-6 over Northwest Pallet / Starbusters to claim the title to the 2006 Miller Lite 'Kiss-It' tournament.
Northwest Pallet / Starbusters made it to the championship game of the 2006 Miller Lite 'Kiss-It' tournament play opening play on Saturday with a first round bye before taking on and defeating SFL from Bloomingdale 17-13 in the second round of play. SFL had won their first round game over Landmark 16-6 to advance into this game with Northwest Pallet / Starbusters. In the third round of Tournamtn play Northwest Pallet / Starbusters and Yep! with Northwest Pallet / Starbusters winning 15-10 to move into Sunday semifinals as one of four unbeaten teams left in the winner's bracket. Yep! made it to this game by opening play with a first round bye before the stopped McGaffer's / Caps Fury 8-3 in the second round of tournament play to advance into their game with Northwest Pallet / Starbusters.
On Sunday Northwest Pallet / Starbusters stubbed their toe right out of the chute losing to Hell Yea 13-10 to drop them into the loser's bracket.
Now playing with their back against the wall Northwest Pallet / Starbusters started to eliminate teams starting with Rigid Construction / Little Anthony's who was excused from the remainder of this tournament after losing to Northwest Pallet / Starbusters by a score of 11-10. Nest to exit at the hands of Northwest Pallet / Starbusters was Amy Plumbing / Road Dawgs by the final score of 7-2. Now only Plano Legion / Vineyard Liquors stood between Northwest Pallet / Starbusters and a rematch with unbeaten Hell Yea. Northwest Pallet / Starbusters took care of the business at hand as they slipped past Plano Legion / Vineyard Liquors 11-10 to earn the right to play for teh2006 Miller Lite 'Kiss-It' title. It was here that Northwest Pallet / Starbusters dreams ended as Hell Yea complete their undefeated run to the title by beating Northwest Pallet / Starbusters 9-6 in the championship game.
