Harold's Wins ISA D/E At Dragon Dome In Pekin

Nine Teams Participate At Tournament On April 22nd & 23rd

PEKIN: Harold's won the nine team ISA Men's D/E season opening tournament held at the Dragon's Dome in Pekin with a perfect 4-0 record over a field of nine teams on April 22nd & 23rd. The Champions earned a berth to play at the 2006 ISA Men's Class D World Tournament to be held in Panama City, Florida on August 26th & 27th. The Hitmen (3-2) took home second place, Wired Shut ( (4-2) was third with Head 1st ( (3-2) finishing in fourth place at this event.
Harold's opened tournament play with a 17-7 win over the Diamond Dawgs in the first round before taking on and defeating Dailey Law 18-7 in the second round of play. Dailey Law had won their first round game over Wired Shut 14-12 to advance into this contest with Harold's in the second round of tournament action.
On Sunday in the game that featured the tournament's last two remaining unbeaten teams it was Harold's stopping the Hitmen in a close game 11-7 to give Harold's the title to the winner's bracket assuring them of a spot in the tournament's championship game against whichever team that would win the loser's bracket to earn the right to challenge unbeaten Harold's in the title game. That team turned out to be the Hitmen and a rematch of the unbeaten game would take place in the finals. Once again it was Harold's getting the best of it on this day winning 10-9 to put the finishing touches on their tournament championship to start the year out.
The Hitmen made it to the title game by opening play on Saturday against Head 1st and promptly posting an 11-4 win up onto the bracket board to advance in the bracket. In the second round on Saturday it was the Hitmen defeating Steamfitters 17-14 to move into Sunday's winner's bracket championship game. The Steamfitters had previously defeated Mason Mortgage in the first round of tournament play 7-6 to advance into this second round contest with the Hitmen.
On Sunday it was the Hitmen against Harold's with the title to the winner's bracket and a spot in the tournaments championship game riding on the line to the winner as the Hitmen came up a little short in this game losing to Harold's 11-7. Now the Hitmen need to defeat Wired Shut in order to earn a second chance at playing Harold's for the tournament championship and they took care of business at hand as they defeated Wired Shut in a high scoring game 18-16 to earn that second chance at Harold's. Harold's would not be deigned as they rose to the challenge and sent the Hitmen to the parking lot to pack their cars for the trip back home after beating them in a close game 10-9.
