Full Tilt / Alpine Machine Wins Class C Metro

Six Teams Participate At Melas Fields In Arlington Heights On Aug. 11th

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS: Full Tilt / Alpine Machine (3-1) reached down in the 'if necessary game' of the 2007 Chicago ASA Metro Men's Class C Tournament to win big over J Denny (4-2) from Kankakee 18-1 to claim the title to this years Metro. Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers (3-2) from Rockford took home third place with Voodoo Lounge (3-2) from Grayslake finishing in fourth place at this six team, three game guarantee, one day, Chicago ASA Metro Tournament.
The champions opened play with a first round bye in this six-team event before taking on and defeating the Voodoo Lounge 7-4 in a semifinal game of the winner's bracket. Voodoo Lounge had beaten Paul Davis Restoration 9-5 in the first round of play to advance into this second round contest against Full Tilt / Alpine Machine.
In the game that featured the last two remaining unbeaten teams Full Tilt / Alpine Machine and J Denny played the first of what was to be three games head to head on this Saturday with Full Tilt / Alpine Machine gaining the early upper hand winning a one run game over J Denny 8-7 to win the winner's bracket and assure Full Tilt / Alpine Machine of a spot in the 2007 Chicago ASA Men's Class C Metro championship game against whichever team that would emerge from the loser's bracket to challenge them.
Now Full Tilt / Alpine machine had to sit and wait until all play in the loser's bracket had been complete before knowing which of the teams still playing would emerge victorious and earn the right to challenge them for the title to the 2007 Chicago ASA Metro Men's Class C tournament. That team turned out to be J Denny and Full Tilt / Alpine Machine had a rematch of the winner's bracket championship game on tap in the finals of the 2007 ASA Men's Class C Metro tournament.
J Denny came out for vengeance over their loss to Full Tilt /Alpine Machine in the winner's bracket undefeated game and got just that with a 8-1 win evening the tournament at one loss each and force the need to play the 'if necessary game' between these two clubs to decide which of them would wear home the crown of the 2007 Chicago ASA Men's Class C Metro championship.
The champion turned out t be Full Title / Alpine Machine in a route as the Naperville based ball club won big 18-1 to claim the title to the 2007 Chicago ASA Men's Class C Metro tournament.
Tournament runner up J Denny opened play with a first round
Win over the Hooded Frogs / Pole Katz / Focus by a final score of 16-9 to advance the Kankakee squad into the semifinals of this six team tournament.
J Denny met and edged out Trainwreck by a final score of 10-9 to advance them into the winner's bracket finals. Trainwreck had received a first round bye soothe game against J Denny was their first contest of this tournament.
J Denny and Full Tilt / Alpine Machine hooked up in the tournament undefeated game of the winner's bracket with J Denny coming out on the short end of a 8-7 score to drop the Kankakee based ball club into the loser's bracket where they needed to win in order to earn a second shot at play for the 2007 Chicago ASA Men's Class C Metro title.
J Denny took care of business as they defeated Paul Davis Restoration / Shockers 9-5 in the loser's bracket finals to earn that second chance at playing Full Tilt /Alpine Machine in the finals.
J Denny came out looking to gain some revenge over the team that had beaten them earlier in the day and did just that by posting a 8-1 victory onto the bracket board over Full Tilt / Alpine Machine to even this tournament at one loss each.
Now the deciding game was to be played as J Denny and Full Title squared off with each other for the third time on this Saturday in the 'if necessary game'.
J Denny seemed to hit the wall as a team in this extra game as they could not get anything going either offensively or defensively as they were beaten by Full Tilt / Alpine Machine 18-1 in the final game to finish in second place at the 2007 Chicago ASA Men's Class C Metro tournament.
