Illinois Class D Cash tournament
With Over Four Thousand Dollars
To Be Paid Out.

AURORA: Illinois Softball
Report is please to announce that they have come to an agreement
with the Illinois USSSA Hall of Fame to host a Men's Class D money
tournament. The tournament will be held September 10h & 11th
at Harlem Community Center Complex in Rockford.
In order to ensure that only class D or E teams and their legitimate
Class D or E players participate in this tournament all teams that
enter will be restricted to their current frozen USSSA roster at
the time of the tournament. Only those teams that played in a 2005
Illinois USSSA State Tournament will be eligible to participate
in this tournament. There will be no rosters additions allowed at
this tournament, only your current class D or E frozen USSSA roster
will be allowed, period.
The tournament will limited to thirty-two teams using a format that
is different from the normal double elimination events that most
twelve inch softball players are used to using. A four game guarantee
will be used with Saturday being 'Pool Play' and Sunday being a
single elimination tournament (seeded by Saturday's 'Pool Play'
results). A progressive payout will be used which guarantees that
a minimum of 75% or 24 out of the 32 teams earn some money back.
Only participating teams that go 0-4 will not receive any money
back from this tournament. It is even possible (but highly unlikely)
that all 32 teams will all earn some money back in this event.
On Saturday every team will play a 'round robin' (three games) within
their pool of four teams. Every game will be worth $25.00 to the
winning team with a one hundred dollar ($100.00) bonus to the pool
champion.
On Saturday (based on 32 teams) two thousand dollars ($2000.00 -
48 games @ $25.00 per game to the winning team plus eight pool champions
@ $100.00 per) will be won by the participating teams in this tournament.
On Sunday, all four teams from each pool will be spilt into four
different quarter bracket of the tournament so two teams from the
same pool could not meet each other again until the semi-finals
or finals on Sunday. In the first round the eight pool champions
would be paired against the eight fourth place finishers from Saturday's
pool play. All eight second place finishers from Saturday's pool
play would play the eight third place finishers from pool play in
the first round on Sunday's single elimination tournament. The second
round would feature eight games involving the winner's from the
pool champions against the pool fourth place finishers VS the eight
winner's of the pool play second place finishers against the pool
play third place finishers.
Sunday's first round would be worth fifty dollars ($50.00 X 16 games
=$800.00) to the winning team. Sunday's second round would be worth
seventy-five dollars ($75.00 X 8 games = $600.00) to the winning
team. Sunday's third round would be worth one hundred dollars ($100.00
X 4 Games = $400.00) to the winning team. Sunday's fourth round
(semi-finals) would be worth one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00
X 2 games = $300.00) to the winning team. The championship game
would be worth two hundred dollars to the winning team.
On Sunday twenty-three hundred ($2300.00- again based on 32 teams)
will be won by the teams bringing the payout for both days to a
combine forty-three hundred dollars ($4300.00) earned by legitimate
Class D & Class E teams with only their sanctioned Class D or
Class E roster being used in this event.
Entry fee is $275.00 and after all expenses (cash payouts, field
rental, umpires, insurance, balls, tournament director's fee, and
all other miscellaneous expenses) are paid the remaining balance
of monies collected will go the Illinois USSSA Hall Of Fame.
The pool game times for Saturday will be {one of three time slots}
1) 9, 10 & noon, 2) 11, 1 & 3, and 3) 2, 4 & 5. Another
unique thing to this tournament will be that as you enter your team
into this event you will be allowed to pick which pool time you
want to play in until that time slot has filled completely up. So
if playing at a certain time of day on Saturday would be beneficial
to your ball club be sure to enter early and have that time slot
reserved.
Only USSSA Class D or Class E teams with a paid in full entry fee
plus having their roster on line will be accepted into this tournament.
