at the Forest Hills Diamonds in Rockford on August 27th with a perfect
3-0 record. The champions were led by the play of Angela Miller
who was named as they 'Most Valuable Player' of this state tournament.
She was joined on the 2005 Illinois USSSA Women's Class E All-State

Hathaway, and Lori Strohecker. The Lady Diamonds (2-2) from Davenport
Iowa finished in second place with Shooters North (2-2) from Rockford

round of play.
Now playing in the winner's bracket championship game of this four
team event Culver's stopped Shooter's North cold by a final score
of 5-0 to become the only unbeaten team left in this tournament.
After having to wait until the losers bracket was completed before
knowing who they would be playing in the championship game Culvers
found that they would be playing the Lady Diamonds in the finals.
Once again it was all Culver's as they dismantled the Lady Diamonds
19-4 to win the 2005 Illinois USSSA Women's Class E state Tournament
undefeated.
Culvers did not supply Illinois Softball Report with any team information,
stats, highlights or quotes on how they were able to win this 2005

The Lady Diamonds started their day off on a sour note as they dropped
their first game of the state tournament to Shooter's North by a
final score of 14-3.
The Lady Diamonds responded with a win in the loser's bracket to
even their tournament record at one win and one loss after they
beat Oasis 15-5 to advance in the bracket.
Playing in the game where the winner would advance into the championship
game to play unbeaten Culvers the Lady Diamonds sought to get some
revenge as they took the field to play Shooters North the team that
had put them into the loser's bracket in the first round of this
tournament. The Lady Diamonds did just that by sending Shooter's
North to the parking lot to pack their cars for the trip back home
after beating them 15-8 to extract some revenge before moving on
to play Culvers in the championship game.
The Lady Diamonds dream of bouncing back to win the state title
after being upended in their very first game came to a crashing
halt when Culvers pounded out an impressive 19-4 win to claim the
state title over the Lady Diamonds who finished in second place
at this years 2005 Illinois USSSA Women's State Tournament.
The Lady Diamonds did not provide Illinois Softball Report with
