Conness Real Estate Wins USSSA Grand Finale

Rockford: Conness Real Estate from RocRkford won the 2001 USSSA men's Class E Grand Final played at Harlem Coummunity Center adn Forest Hills Diamonds in Rockford on September 29 & 30. The champions went a perfect 5-0 in the twenty six tean event that featured teams from all over the state of Illinois. Tournament runner-up was Infinity/DC Gang (6-2) from Rockford.
The champions opened play with a 13-3 win over Sharp Income Tax from Peoria.
Conness improved their record to 2-0 with a 16-14 win over Williams Hardcore from Warrenville. On Sunday Conness Real Estate defeated Evergreen Irrigation from Rockford 16-6 to advance to the winners bracket finals.
Conness Real Estate won the winners bracket with a 13-12 win over Whitey’s World from Oswego.
In The title game Conness real Estate complete their sweep of the field by downing Infinity/DC Gang 8-4.
Infinity/DC Gang made it to the championship game the hard way, they lost their opening game to Riverside from De alb 13-12. The Rockford ball club rebounded to run off seven straight wins to earn a spot in the title game. First to fall to the Rockford ten was Russell Transport 9-3.
On Sunday Infinity/DC Gang eliminated Sharp Income Tax 8-6. The Rockford ball club posted another 8-6 win as Sauder Sports fell.
Nectars/Zebra Enterprises from Rockford was edge by a single run 7-6.
Evergreen Irrigation was sent home by a 14-2 score.
Williams Hardcore left in fourth place when Infinity/DC Gang eliminated them 9-1.
Whitey’s World was victim number seven falling 6-5.
