Champions Of Primetime's Cash Tournament
JOLIET: Classic Construction / Young Guns
of Joliet captured the 20 team competitive division of the primetime
tourney held April 9th and 10th. The champions posted a perfect
4-0 record to claim the top cash prize being offered. Slick Rick's
from Bloomington took home second place. No other information was
received from Primetime on who finished were in their tournament.
Classic Construction / Young Guns opened tournament play by defeating
the Roaddawgs from Joliet 15-14. Classic Construction / Young Guns
used an eight run second inning to key their victory. The leading
hitters from Classic Construction / Young Guns in this game were
Jon Vugteveen and Adam Feeney with three hits each, as teammates
Scott Malone, Keith Bradley, Sean Tudhope, Scott Hodgen, Eric Buckles,
and Terry Feeney all chipped in with two hits apiece and Ryan Koerner
added a triple.
In their second game Classic Construction / Young Guns defeated
a team called Truckers from Plainfield 33-15. The winners collected
37 hits in this five inning game. Stroking out four hits each were
Keith Bradley (with 3B & HR), Malone, Tudhope, Jeff Spisak (with
2 2B), Vugteveen, Jim Manthey (with 2 2B), and Eric Buckles. Collecting
three hits each for the winners were Hodgen (with 2 2B), A. Feeney
and the winning pitcher T. Feeney.
Game number three was the winner's bracket championship game featuring
the Classic Construction / Young Guns ball club against Slick Rick's
with the home standing Joliet based ball club coming out on top
in this game by a final score of 20-6. Classic Construction / Young
Guns leading hitters in this game with three hits each were; Rusty
Ruettiger, Vugteveen with 3 2B), Hodgen, Spisak. Adding two hits
each to the winning teams effort were, Bradley (with a HR), and
Malone as Sean Tudhope added a key double.
In the championship game, Classic Construction / Young Guns had
a rematch with Slick Rick's and in a much closer game the Joliet
ball club came out on top again by a final score of 9-4. The leading
hitters for Classic Construction / Young Guns in this win were;
Manthey with three hits including a three run homer. Adding two
hits each were Ruettiger, Vugteveen, Tudhope and winning pitcher
T. Feeney. With Hodgen and Spisak also added doubles to help fuel
their team in this victory.

their second place finish at the cash tournament.
