Chicago Steel Wins
NSA B/C
Six Teams, One Day Tournament,
In Arlington Heights, On July 9th

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS: Chicago Steel
(3-1) won the 'if necessary game over Creative Design 5-2) to win
the NSA Men's Class B/C Tournament held at Melas Fields in Arlington
Heights on July 9th over a field of six teams. The champions had
won the winner's bracket before dropping the first championship
game to Creative Design which forced them to play that extra game
with the winner also taking home the crow to this year's tournament.
Champion Builder's (2-2) finished in third place with Buck's Pit
Stop (1-2) taking home fourth place. Illinois Softball Report only
received a bracket with the winning teams names on it (no scores
were listed) from this tournament.
Chicago Steel had received a first round bye before taking on and
defeating Creative Design in the second round of play. Chicago Steel
than won the winner's bracket when they post a victory over Champion
Builder's in the undefeated game.
Now Chicago Steel needed to sit back and wait as the loser's bracket
needed to be played out to its conclusion before they would know
ho their opponent would be in the championship game. When the loser's
bracket games were completed it was a rematch with Creative Design
that awaited Chicago Steel in the finals. Creative Design proved
that they belong in the championship game as they handed Chicago
Steel a loss to even the tournament at one loss each and force the
need to have that extra game played in order to determine which
of these two remaining teams would be the champion. Chicago Steel
won that deciding game over Creative Design to win the title to
this tournament.

team information, stats, highlights, scores or quote son how they
were able to win this tournament.
Tournament runner up Creative Design opened tournament play with
a first round win over the Hooded Frogs to advance in the bracket.
In their second contest Creative Design was sent to the loser's
bracket after being beat by Chicago Steel.
Once in the loser's bracket Creative Design went to work as they
eliminated Lethal Softball to advance in the bracket. Buck's Pit
Stop was sent to the parking lot next as Creative Design continued
to move forward in this tournament.
In the game that would determine who would qualify as the second
team to play in the championship game it was Creative design defeating
Champions Builder's to move into the title contest.
Creative Design continued their winning ways as they handed Chicago
Steel a loss to force the need to have the 'if necessary game' played
in order to determine which of these two remaining teams would be
the champion.
The deciding game went to Chicago Steel over the Creative Design
ball club as Creative Design was forced to accept second place after
a long day of playing softball.
Creative Design did not provide Illinois Softball Report with any
team information, stats, scores, highlights or quotes on how they
were able to achieve their second place finish at this tournament.
