Canadian Club Wins Chicago Metro
Class C
Four Teams, One Day Event At Mayfair
Park In Westchester

WESTCHESTER: Canadian Club(3-1)
reached down to find that one last win as they won the 2005 Chicago
ASA Men's Class C Metro 'if game' over the Bucks (3-2) 20-18 to
claim the metro title for 2005. Canadian Club had won the winner's
bracket before being beaten by the Bucks 20-12 in the first championship
game to force the need to play the 'if necessary game' in order
to separate these two ball clubs in this tournament. Canadian Club
pocket three hundred dollars and a berth to play at the 2005 ASA
Eastern National Finals to be held on Labor Day Weekend in Valdosta,
Georgia. Road Dawgs (1-2) from Joliet was third with Big Dogs (0-2)
finishing in fourth place.
Canadian Club opened tournament play with a first round game against
the Big Dogs and promptly posted an impressive 29-5 win up onto
the bracket board to move into the winner's bracket finals of this
four team ASA Chicago Metro Class C Tournament.
Canadians Club won the winner's bracket by pounding out another
lopsided victory as the Road Dawgs fell to them 19-7 to assure Canadian
Club of a spot in the championship game against whichever team that
would come out of the loser's bracket to challenge them in the championship
game.
After resting and waiting Canadian Club took the field to play the
Bucks in the finals of the 2005 ASA Chicago Metro Class C. The Bucks
had just won two games in a row outscoring their opponents by a
combined score of 28-1. The hot hitting Bucks continued to roll
as they pushed twenty runs across the plate to win impressively
20-12 over Canadian Club to even the tournament at one loss each
and with this win also required the playing of the 'if necessary
game' in order to determine which of these two teams would be the
2005 ASA Chicago Metro Men's Class C Champion.
Now one game for the title, the winner takes all and both the Bucks
and Canadian Club wanted the title to this tournament. In a close
game with lost of excitement it was Canadian Clubs day to shine
as they edged out the Bucks by a final score of 20-18 to claim the
Metro title as their own.
Canadian Club did not supply Illinois Softball Report with any team
information, stats, highlights or quotes as to how they were able
to win the 2005 Chicago ASA Men's Class C Metro Tournament.
The Bucks made it to the championship game by opening play with
a first round loss to the Road Dawgs by a final score of 9-3. Now
playing in the loser's bracket the bucks beat the Big Dogs 13-1
to advance into the loser's bracket finals where they had a rematch
with the Road Dawgs and this time they took care of business by
dismantling them 15-0 to earn the right to play Canadian Club in
the championship game. The Bucks still needed to win two games over
Canadian Club in order to win the Metro Tournament and they went
about trying to do just that as they won the first championship
game 20-12 to force the need to have the 'if necessary game played
between these two ball clubs in order to decide which of them would
be the 2005 ASA Metro Men's Class C Champions. That team turned
out to be Canadian Club as they edged out the bucks 20-18 in an
exciting final game to send the Bucks home with second place from
this tournament.
The Bucks did not provide Illinois Softball Report with any team
information, stats, highlights or quotes on how they were able to
finish in second place at the 2005 ASA Chicago Metro Men's Class
C Tournament.
