Canadian Club/On Tap Champions
At ISA C/D
Six Teams, One Day Tournament
At Melas Fields In Arlington Heights

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS: Canadian
Club/On Tap from Softball City won the six team, one day, ISA Men's
Class C/D World Tournament Qualifier played at Melas Fields in Arlington
Heights on July 16th with a perfect 3-0 record. The Hooded Frogs/Bridgeview
Sports Dome (3-2) from Bridgeview finished in second place, Primetime
(2-2) from Joliet took home third place with Die Hard (1-2) from
Arlington Heights finishing in fourth place at this tournament.
The champions to be opened tournament play with a first round bye
before taking on and defeating Throwin' Leather 22-1 in the second
round of tournament action. Throwin' Leather had advanced into this
second round contest by defeating Squeeze Softball 22-12 in the
opening round of tournament play.
In the game between the tournaments last two remaining unbeaten
teams it was Canadian Club/On Tap against Primetime with the Canadian
Club/On Tap ball club posting an 21-9 win up onto the bracket board
to win the winner's bracket and assure them of a spot in the tournament's
championship game against whichever team that wins the loser's bracket
to earn the right to oppose them in the finals. Primetime made it
to this game by opening tournament play with an 18-8 win over Die
hard in the first round of play before beating the Hooded Frogs/Bridgeview
Sports Dome 24-21 in the second round to earn their way into the
tournaments undefeated game.
When the loser's bracket was played out to its conclusion the Canadian
Club/On Tap ball club than knew that they would be playing the Hooded
Frogs/Bridgeview Sports Dome in the championship game.
Canadian Club/On Tap took care of business in the title game and
defeated the Hooded Frogs/Bridgeview Sports Dome 21-16 to claim
their title by going undefeated at this tournament.
Canadian Club/On Tap did not provide Illinois Softball Report with
any team information, stats, highlights or quotes on how they were
able to win this tournament and claim the berth to play at the I.S.A.
Men's Class C World Tournament to be held at Loudin, Virginia on
August 26th through 28th, 2005.
Tournament runner-up Hooded Frogs/Bridgeview Sports Dome also opened
play with a first round bye before being upended in the second round
by Primetime 24-21. This loss dropped the Hooded Frogs/Bridgeview
Sports Dome into the loser's bracket where they eliminated Squeeze
first by a final score of 17-1.
The next team to exit this tournament at the hands of the Hooded
Frogs/Bridgeview Sports Dome was Die Hard who was excused with fourth
place after dropping a 16-5 game to the Hooded Frogs/Bridgeview
Sports Dome.
The Hooded Frogs/Bridgeview Sports Dome now prepared to take the
field against the team that had put them into the loser's bracket
earlier in the day with the added prize of the winner will earn
their way into the championship game as a bonus prize. The Hooded
Frogs/Bridgeview Sports Dome took care of business as they took
that pound of flesh know as revenge on Primetime by defeating them
19-9 to win the loser's bracket and give them the right to challenge
Canadian Club/On Tap in the title game.
The championship game belonged to Canadian Club/On Tap as they sent
the Hooded Frogs/Bridgeview Sports Dome home with second place after
beating them 21-16 in the deciding game of this tournament.
The Hooded Frogs/Bridgeview Sports Dome did not supply Illinois
Softball Report with any team information, stats, highlights or
quotes on how they were able to achieve their second place finish
at this tournament.
