Eight Team Participate AT Melas Fields In Arlington Heights

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS: The Brew Dogs went a perfect 4-0 to win the eight team ISA Men's Class D/E World Tournament qualifier played at Melas Fields in Arlington Heights on May 27th. K.G.B. 4-2 took home second place, Roger Dorn (2-2) finished in third place and Squeeze (2-2) took home fourth place from this event.
The Brew Dogs opened play with a first round game against Squeeze and posted a 17-12 win onto the bracket board to advance in the winner's bracket. In their second contest of this Saturday it was the Brew Dogs over K.G.B. 14-10 to advance them into the winner's bracket finals of this tournament.
In the battle between the tournaments lone two remaining unbeaten teams the Brew Dogs edged Roger Dorn by a single run 11-10 to win the winner's bracket. Now the Brew Dogs had to sit and wait until the loser's bracket was complete before knowing which of the remaining teams would be their challenger in the title game. That team turned out to be a rematch with K.G.B. The Brew Dogs complete their undefeated run to the title at this tournament by defeating K.G.B. for a second time on this Saturday (no score was reported) to win the championship.
K.G.B. made it the championship game by opening play with a first round win over the Amish Mafia by a final score of 17-13. In their second game they were defeated by the Brew Dogs 14-10 to drop K.G.B. into the loser's bracket. K.G,B, started out on the road back to the finals by playing Chicago Hot Dogs and they posted a 17-6 win onto the bracket board to continue their advancement towards the finals. Next up for K.G.B. was a contest against Squeeze and K.G.B. continued to hit the ball winning 14-6 as they moved closer to the championship game. Now only Roger Dorn stood between K.G.B. and a rematch with the Brew Dogs. Ina close game K.G.B. edged out Roger Dorn 14-13 to earn that second chance at playing the unbeaten Brew Dogs in the finals. But, this was a close as K.G.B. would get on this Saturday as they well defeated by the Brew Dogs (no score was reported) for the second time to finish in second place at this tournament.
