Brew Dogs Wins ISA Class D/E - Nate Buddy

Eighteen Teams Participate At Lipppold Park In Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE: The Brew Dogs from Glen Ellen went a perfect 5-0 to capture the ISA Men's Class D/E Nate Buddy Tournament held at Lippold Park in Crystal Lake on March 29th & 30th. The champions were 2-0 on Saturday before going 30- to win the eighteen-team single elimination tournament on Sunday. Piehouse (4-2) from Chicago took home second place with both the Wizards (4-2) from Schaumburg and Roger Dorn (3-2) from Arlington Heights finishing in a tie for third place.
The Brew Dogs opened 'Pool Play' on Saturday afternoon with a 12-9 win over the Wizards to start their day off. In the second and final 'Pool Play' game the Brew Dogs met and defeated Precision from Lemont 21-14 to win their pool.
On Sunday morning the Brew Dogs faced SC Softball from Westchester and posted a narrow 11-10 win onto the bracket board to advance in this single elimination tournament.
Now playing in a semifinal game of the tournament the Brew Dogs and Wizards went toe to toe for the second time in two day and once again the Brew Dogs got the better of it winning 13-8 to advance into the championship game.
In the title contest it was the Brew Dogs winning big 18-8 over Piehouse to claim the title to the 2008 ISA Men's Class D/E Nate Buddy Tournament championship.
Tournament runner-up Piehouse went 1-1 in 'Pool Play' on Saturday to finish in second place in their pool. Piehouse opened play with a narrow 4-2 loss to Demolition before bouncing back in their second game to defeat Chicago Hot Dogs 19-1.
On Sunday morning Piehouse opened play with a 12-9 win over Brothers Bar & Grill from Milwaukee, WI in the first round of play. Next up was a match-up against Impact Softball from Chicago and posted a big 20-10 win onto the bracket board to continue their advancement towards the title game. Piehouse played Roger Dorn next in a semifinal game winning 26-16 to put them into the championship game where they came up short losing to the Brew Dogs 13-8 to finish in second place
The other pool champions from Saturday were Trainwreck from Arlington Heights who defeated both Ridin Noble's Coattails from Crystal Lake 26-11 and Women's Touch Painting from Wisconsin 19-16.
Caps / Fury from Lombard defeated both George Moody 28-9 and SC Softball from Westchester 14-9.
Roger Dorn stopped VIP Softball 19-13 but lost to Brothers Bar & Grill 17-15. Roger Dorn edged out both competitors on the tiebreaker rule to win this pool.
Demolition defeated both Chicago Hot Dogs 16-14 and Piehouse 4-2 to win their pool
Impact Softball was the champion of the last pool defeating both Liquor Box 14-3 and Illinois Central Bombers 16-6.
