Bombers Champions Of NSA Class D World Series Qualifier In Bartonville

BARTONVILLE: The Bombers from Mackinaw went a perfect 4-0 to win the NSA Men's Class D World Series Qualifier held at Alpha Park in Bartonville on June25th and 26th. The champions received a berth to play at the NSA Men's Class D World Series in Arlington Heights on August 27th & 28th. Kelly Glass (4-2) from Peoria took home second place, Harvey & Stuckel (2-2) from Peoria went home with third place and The Wise Guys (3-2) finished in fourth place at this tournament.
The Bombers opened play with a first round win over Robinson Plumbing (no score was reported) to move into the second round of tournament play.
The Bombers than defeated Dave's Pizza (no score was reported) to move into the winner's bracket undefeated game. Dave's Pizza advance into this second round game by beating the Wise Guys 30-29 in a pig tail game to get into the regular bracket and than beating Clanahan Chiropractic (no score was reported) in the first round of tournament play to advance into the second round contest with the Bombers.
In the game between the last two remaining unbeaten teams the Bombers defeated Harvey & Stuckel (no score was reported) to give them the title to the winner's bracket as also assure the Bombers of a spot in the championship game against whichever team that will win the loser's bracket to challenge them in the finals. Harvey & Stuckel made it to the winner's bracket championship game by opening the tournament with a first round win over Players Lounge. In the second round of tournament action Harvey & Stuckel defeated Kelly Glass 6-4 to move into the winner's bracket finals.
That team turned out to be Kelly Glass and in a close game the bombers edged out Kelly Glass 16-13 to win the title and the berth to play at the NSA Men's Class D World Series in Arlington Heights.

Tournament runner-up Kelly Glass opened play with an 8-6 win over Raker's Appraisal in the first round of tournament action.

Next Kelly Glass eliminated Wise Guys by a final score of 20-5 as they continued their advance toward the championship game.
Kelly Glass drew blood in their next game as they sent home the team that had put them into the loser's bracket earlier in the day, Harvey & Stuckel by the final score of 18-16. Besides gaining some revenge over Harvey & Stuckel, this win also put Kelly Glass into the championship contest against the unbeaten Bombers. It was here that Kelly Glass hope of coming back all the way through the loser's bracket to win the Tournamtn ended as the Bombers prevailed 160-13 over them to send them home with second place.
