Beam Softball Champions At ASA
Class D
Eight Teams Participate At Melas
Field In Arlington Heights On April 7th

ARLINTON HEIGHTS: Beam Softball
(4-1) came back in the 'if necessary game' to defeat Softball Season.com
(5-2) 25-10 at the ASA Men's Class D Qualifier played at Melas Fields
in Arlington Heights on April 7th to claim the title. Softball Season.Com
had forced the need to have the 'if necessary game' played by beating
Beam Softball 15-6 in the first championship game of this tournament.
Hell Yeah (2-2) took home third place with Trainwreck (2-2) finishing
in fourth place.
Beam Softball opened tournament play with a first round contest
against Trainwreck and posted a 14-6 win onto the bracket board
to advance in the bracket.
In their second contest of this eight team tournament Beam Softball
and Softball Season.Com tangled in the first of what would be three
meetings on this Saturday with Beam Softball gaining the upper hand
winning 6-5 to move them into the winner's bracket finals.
In the tournament undefeated game Beam Softball took the field to
play Hell Yeah and when the dust had resettled back down on the
infield the scoreboard read Beam Softball 13 and Hell Yeah 7 giving
Beam Softball the title to the winners bracket and spot in the tournament's
championship game. Hell Yeah made it to the winner's bracket finals
by opening play with a first round 9-5 win over Shoeless Joe's before
stopping Outside Connection 11-7 in the second round of play.
Now Beam Softball had to sit and wait as the watched the loser's
bracket being played out and when it was over Beam Softball had
a rematch with Softball Season.Com on tap in the championship game.
Beam Softball could not slow down Softball Season.com in that first
came fall to them by a final score of 15-6. The second championship
game was as close as any game could be up until the seventh inning.
With the score tied at ten runs each Beam Softball broke it open
in the top of the seventh inning scoring fifteen runs to win the
game 25-10 and the tournament championship that went to the winner
of this last game played.
Softball Season.Com took a longer path to the finals but they got
there just the same as they opened play with a first round 16-4
win over Assault. In their second contest of this tournament Softball
Season.Com tasted defeat as they were upended in a close game 6-5
by Beam Softball to drop them into the loser's bracket in this tournament.
Once in the loser's bracket Softball Season.Com went to work as
they dismissed Shoeless Joe's from the tournament first by a final
score of 7-2. Next to exit this tournament at the hands of Softball
Season.Com was Trainwreck after Softball Season.Com posted an 11-3
victory onto the bracket board. Now only Hell Yeah stood between
Softball Season.Com and a rematch with Beam Softball and Softball
Season.Com kept their eyes on the prize winning 11-6 to send Hell
Yeah to the parking lot with third place from this event.
Softball Season.Com took a measure of revenge from Beam Softball
in the first game as they won impressively 15-6 over Beam Softball
and in doing forced the need to have that extra game played in order
to determine which of these two remaining team would be the champion
of this tournament. That extra game was everything an extra game
should be up until that fateful last inning when Beam Softball exploded
for fifteen huge runs in the top of the last inning winning 25-10
to send Softball Season.Com home with second place from this tournament.
