Ambrosia Bar & Grill Champions At USSSA Class E
Eleven Teams Participate At Inwood Complex In Joliet On June 11th

JOLIET: Ambrosia Bar & Grill from Joliet ran the table on the eleven team USSSA Men's Class E National Qualifier played at the Inwood Sports Complex in Joliet on June 11th with a perfect 4-0 record. Village Pub (3-2) from Kankakee finished in second place with Evil Sports (4-2) from Joliet taking home third place, and Gallagher's Pub (3-2) from Manhattan finishing in fourth place at this event. The champions will be playing at the USSSA Men's Class E National to be held in Waterloo, Iowa over Labor Day Weekend.
Ambrosia Bar & Grill opened tournament play with a first round bye before taking on and defeating Heroes & Ledgends/Webb Financial 4-3 in the second round of play. Heroes & Ledgends/Webb Financial had previously won their first round game over The Wreckers from Carol Stream 7-2.
Win number two was a 12-10 victory over Nasty Naybors as Ambrosia Bar & Grill continued to roll along towards the championship. Nasty Naybors had also received a first round bye before taking on and defeating Garnsey III/Ostir Chiropractor in a close game 10-9 in the tournament's second round of play to earn their way into this game.
In the tournament unbeaten game featuring the last two unbeaten team left in the tournament Ambrosia bar & Grill lined up to play with the Village Inn lining up to play on the other side of the field of play to oppose them. Ambrosia Bar & Grill got the better of the Village Inn by a final score of 7-2 as they won the winner's bracket and now had to wait until the loser's bracket was completed before knowing who would be their opponent in the tournament's championship game. When the dust had settled back down after the last out had been record in the loser's bracket finals it was a rematch with Village Inn that awaited Ambrosia Bar & Grill in the championship game.
Ambrosia came out focused on their team goal of winning this tournament undefeated and did just that as they posted an 8-2 win over the Village Inn to complete their undefeated run to the title of this tournament.

Tournament runner up Village Inn opened play with a first round bye before taking on Evil Sports in the second round of play and defeating them 8-7 to advance in this tournament.
Next up was a semi-final game in the winner's bracket against Gallagher's Pub with Village Inn posting a narrow 12-11 win up onto the bracket board to put them into the winner's bracket finals. Gallagher's Pub made it to the semifinals of this tournament by open with a 7-3 win over Pom Poms in the first round of play and than defeating One Timers/Hubbs & Henry Pub from Joliet 9-8 in the second round of action.
The Village Inn lost the winner's bracket finals game to Ambrosia Bar & Grill by a final score of 7-2 to drop them into the loser's bracket where they met and defeated Evil Sports for the second time in this tournament by the final score of 12-1. This win earned Village Inn a second shot at Ambrosia bar & Grill and the tournament title.
The tournament's championship game was not kind to the Kankakee ball club as they lost to Ambrosia Bar & Grill for the second time in this tournament with the final score of 8-2 being record onto the bracket board to send Village Inn home with the second place prize package.
