In their next game Kraft Foods tangled with Resource Bank and put a whipping on them as they defeated them 16-0 in five innings to advance into the winner's bracket finals of this tournament. Resource Bank had previously defeated Shooters North from Rockford 11-5 in the first round of tournament play before stopping Crossroads from Deerfield 14-11 in the second round of play to earn their way into this semifinal contest of the winner's bracket against Kraft Foods.
On Sunday morning it was Kraft Foods and Aero Softball Mixed in a match up of the two remaining unbeaten teams left in this tournament. Kraft Foods could not get on track during this game and was sent to play in the loser's bracket after dropping a 13-6 decision to Aero Softball Mixed in the unbeaten game.
Kraft Foods found itself in the loser's bracket and put an impressive 19-4 win over Blackhawk Athletic Club II onto the bracket board to earn a second shot at aero Softball Mixed and the USSSA Mixed Class D Great Lakes National Tournament title.
Kraft Foods made their present know to Aero Softball Mixed as they handed them a defeat to even the tournament at one loss each after beating them 12-2 in five innings to force the need to have the 'if necessary game' played between these two ball clubs in order to be able to determine which of them would wear the crown as the 2005 USSSA Great Lakes Mixed Class D champions.
The extra game went to Aero Softball Mixed over Kraft Foods as the Rochelle based ball club was forced to settle for second place from this national tournament.
