Naperville's 30th Annual Spring Tune-up 16" Champions Windy City

NAPERVILLE: Windy City (7-0) ran the table on the field of eight teams at the 30th Annual Naperville Spring Tune-up Sixteen Inch Tournament to claim the top cash prize of five hundred fifty dollars. Wallace (6-1) took home second place earning three hundred fifty dollars with both Bevi's Iron (3-2) and Jaxx (3-2) finishing in a tie for third place.
Windy City started their Sunday of softball with three games in 'Pool Play' competition. In their opening game Windy City met and defeated Jaxx 12-2. In their second 'Pool Play' game it was Windy City over Bevi's Bar 15-5. Windy City completed their sweep of 'Pool Play' opponents by stopping Aces Full 12-6.
Each of these three victories earned Windy City twenty-five dollars each plus for winning their 'Pool Play ' division they earned a one hundred dollar bonus.
Pool A champion Windy City drew Pool B fourth lace team in the first round of the single elimination tournament and Windy City posted a 9-1 win onto the bracket board over Ragamuffins to advance into the semifinals of this tournament. With this win Windy City earned another seventy-five dollars to add to their growing kitty.
Their semifinal game was a nail bitter going nine innings before Windy City found a way to edge out Bevi's Iron 4-3 to earn their spot in the tournaments championship game. This win earned Windy City an additional one hundred dollars. Bevi's Iron had defeated Cash 11-10 in the first round of tournament play to earn the right to face Windy City in this semifinal game of the tournament.
The championship game featured two team sporting a perfect 5-0 records coming into this head to head show down. Windy City got off to an early lead and never let Wallace back into the game winning 9-1 to claim the two hundred dollar cash prize that goes to the winner of the championship game.
Windy City took home a total of five hundred fifty dollars for their play in this tournament.
Tournament runner up Wallace swept their 'Pool Play' opponents starting with a narrow 13-12 win over Cash in their opening game of the pool play portion of this tournament as they picked up twenty-five dollars for this win.
In their second contest of the 'Pool Play' Wallace and Bevi's Iron went at one another with Wallace winning 9-1 to earn another twenty-five dollars for a 'pool play' victory.
Wallace complete their sweep over all 'Pool B' players when they won game t number three 20-0 over Ragamuffins. This win also gave Wallace the championship of 'Pool B and earned them a one hundred dollar bonus that goes to all pool champions at the Naperville Spring Tune-up tournament.
