30th Annual Naperville Spring Tune-up

On Sunday after a first round bye Darcy Motors / Stone City VFW / Hooded Frogs played Assault from Arlington Heights with the Joliet based squad posting an impressive 26-8 win up on the board. Assault had defeated Dirty from St Charles 12-7 to advance into this second round game against Darcy Motors / Stone City VFW / Hooded Frogs.
Tommy Nevin's Pub / Fighting Irish from Naperville were excused from the tournament next as Darcy Motors / Stone City VFW / Hooded Frogs rolled to a 26-6 win sending them into the semifinal of the tournament. Tommy Nevin's Pub / Fighting Irish had won their 'pool' on Saturday earning a first round bye before defeating Tommy Nevin's Pub / Golf Invite 17-3 to advance into the third round game against Darcy Motors / Stone City VFW / Hooded Frogs.
In a the semifinal game Darcy Motors / Stone City VFW / Hooded Frogs stopped the Road Dawgs from Joliet 23-12 sending them into the championship game and a date with Valerie's Vase Shoppe.
This is where Darcy Motors / Stone City VFW / Hooded Frogs dream of winning the 30th Annual Naperville Spring Tune-up was ended as Valerie's Vase Shoppe got the better of Darcy Motors / Stone City VFW / Hooded Frogs 26-8 in the championship game sending Darcy Motors / Stone City VFW / Hooded Frogs home with second place from this tournament.
The Saturday 'Pool Play winners were; Pool A: Darcy Motors / Stone City VFW / Hooded Frogs (3-0), Pool B: Tommy Nevin's Pub / Fighting Irish (2-1); Pool C: Misfits (3-0); Pool D Full Tilt (3-0); Pool E: Valerie's Vase Shoppe (3-0): and Pool F Ken's Beverage, Inc (3-0).
The total 2008 payout back to the 24 participating teams was three thousand three hundred and fifty dollars. With twenty-three of the twenty-four teams earning money back for their play in this year 30th Annual Naperville Spring Tune-up Tournament.
Gary Foiles from the Naperville Park District took the time to say thank you to all the teams for participating, wishing them success and invite them all back to again next spring at the 31st Annual Naperville Spring Tune-up Tournament next April.
