Twenty Teams Participate In Cicero On July 27th through 29th

CICERO: The Tigers won the Cicero 'Killer B' on July 27th through 29th with a perfect 6-0 record over a field of twenty teams. In Debt (4-2) took home second place with the Gamecocks (5-2) finishing in third place and the Vagabonds (4-2) finishing in fourth place. Finishing in a tie for fifth place were both Shots (3-2) and SSL All Stars (4-2) with both Kid Cocks (2-2) and God Given (3-2) finishing in a tie for seventh place at this years tournament.
The Tigers opened tournament play on Friday evening with a play in game to get into the bracket in which they defeated Guilty 12-2.
On Saturday morning in the first round of tournament action the Tigers met and defeated Bingo (no score was reported) advancing them into the second round of play in this double elimination event. This was Bingo's open game of the tournament.
In the second round of action played on Saturday afternoon the Tigers improved to 3-0 with a victory over Sly (no score was reported) putting the Tigers into Sunday morning's semifinals of the winner's bracket in this tournament. Sly had defeated God Given (no score was reported) in the first round of tournament play to advance into this second round game against the Tigers.
Late on Sunday morning with only four teams still undefeated the Tigers and the Gamecocks hooked up to play a semifinal game with the Tigers getting the better of it this Sunday morning winning 9-4. The Gamecocks made it to this semifinal game of the winner's bracket by opening play on Friday evening with a 7-0 win over Schlitz in a play in game to get into the bracket. On Saturday morning the Gamecocks met and defeated the Kid Cocks (no score was reported) before stopping No Fear (no score was reported) on Saturday afternoon to earn their way into this semifinal game against the Tigers.
On Sunday afternoon the last two remaining unbeaten team took the field to play head to head with the Tigers showing why they are the team to beat in this tournament as they posted an impressive 12-2 win onto the bracket board to win the winners bracket.
Now the Tigers had to sit back and wait until the loser's bracket had competed all of their games before knowing which team would earn the right to oppose them in the title game. And when the last of the dust had settled back down onto the field of play after the last losers bracket game been completed the tigers were faces with a rematch against In Debt in the tournament's championship game.
This time around it was very close game decided by a single run but it was the Tigers that found a way to win edging out In Debt 4-3 in the championship game to become the 2007 'Killer B's" champions.
Tournament runner up In Debt opened play in the first round on Saturday morning with a game against Chaos and posted a win onto the bracket board 9no score was reported) to advance in the bracket. Chaos had defeated SSL All-Stars on Friday nigh in a play in game by a final score of 16-8 to earn the right to play In Debt in the first round of tournament action.
On Saturday afternoon it was In Debt and the Shots going toe to toe with In Debt winning (no score was reported) to advance them into Sunday morning semifinal round of the winner's bracket. The Shots had defeated Compadres 14-6 on Friday night in the first round of play to advance into this second round match up against In Debt.
On Sunday morning In Debt become one of only two remaining unbeaten teams as they sent the Vagabonds to the loser's bracket after defeating them in a close game 7-6. The Vagabonds had made it to this semifinal game of the winner's bracket by opening play on Friday night with a 9-6 win over Jacked in a play in game to get into the bracket. On Saturday morning the Vagabonds defeated the Lumberjacks (no score was reported) before stopping the Runs 7-6 on Saturday afternoon to earn the right to play in the semifinals of this tournament against In Debt.
In the undefeated game In Debt ran into the wall as the Tigers stopped them cold winning 12-2 to drop them into the loser's bracket defeated them were they need a win to earn a second chance at playing the Tigers in this tournament. In Debt righted their ship and got that win as they disposed of the Gamecocks 10-3 to earn a second chance at playing the Tigers.
In a close game that was in doubt until the final out had been recorded the Tigers edged out In Debt 4-3 forcing In Debt to accept second place from the 2007 'Killer B's Tournament'.
