/ Bunger's On Offense
In the second round of play Byron Bank
/ Costa's / Bunger's stopped the Beavers from Lombard 11-5 to advance
into Sunday as one of eight unbeaten teams left in this tournament.
The Beavers had previously defeated the Roadrunners from Island
Lake 9-5 in the first round of play to advance into this game against
Byron Bank / Costa's / Bunger's.
On Sunday morning Byron Bank / Costa's / Bunger's and Hell Yeah
met in the third round of tournament action in the winner's bracket
with Byron Bank / Costa's / Bunger's winning 7-3 to advance into
the semifinal round of the winner's bracket. On Saturday Hell Yeah

Lake 10-2 in the first round and than stopping EHC / Nelson / Team
Noble from Crystal Lake 15-13 in the second round of tournament
play.
In their semifinal game of the winner's bracket it was Byron Bank
/ Costa's / Bunger's and Assault from going toe to toe with Byron
Bank / Costa's / Bunger's winning one run game 10-9 to advance into
the winner's bracket finals. Assault had made it to this semifinal
game of this years tournament by winning two games on Saturday stopping
Plano Legion / Vineyard from Plano 8-5 in the first round before
they defeated Lord Stanley's from De Kalb 16-11 in the second round
on Saturday. On Sunday morning Assault met and defeated Chaos from
Aurora 18-5 to advance into this semifinal game of the winner's
bracket against Byron Bank / Costa's / Bunger's.
Now only two teams were still undefeated as Byron Bank / Costa's
/ Bunger's took the field to play the Mutts and the Byron based
ball club hung their fifth straight win up onto the bracket board
to claim the winner's bracket title over the Mutts by a final score
of 14-4. This win assured Byron Bank / Costa's / Bunger's of playing
in the championship game against whichever team that would emerge
from the loser's bracket to challenge them in the title game.
That team turned out to be a rematch with Mutts and the Rockford
squad had their hitting shoe son as Byron Bank / Costa's / Bunger's
fell twice 12-7 and 17-5 to leave as a disappointed second place
finisher with the second place cash prize money in their pockets.
