Hype Wins Chicagoland Championship Tournament

Windy City 2nd Place at 2007 Chicagoland Champiosnip Tournament

On Saturday afternoon Windy City played Underage in the second round of tournament play and quickly posted a 12-2 win onto the bracket board to advance into Saturday evening's third round of play in the winner's bracket. Underage made it to this second round game by opening play on Friday evening with a 12-7 win over the Knights to advance into this second round contest against Windy City.
On Saturday evening Windy City and Envisions went at one another with Windy City continuing their winning habits as they posted a 15-5 win up on the bracket board to advance into Sunday afternoon's semifinal round of the winner's bracket. Envisions made it to this third round game by opening play on Friday evening with a 11-1 win over Miller Time in a pigtail game before they met and defeated Thunder 9-8 in a first round game of this tournament. On Saturday afternoon Envisons won their second round game over Shots 16-3 to advance into this third round contest against the Windy City ball club.
On Sunday afternoon Windy City and the Miller Forty-fives went toe to toe in a semifinal game as Windy City gained the upper hand winning 7-2 to advance into the winner's bracket championship game here they would be playing Hype for the opportunity to become the only unbeaten team left in this tournament. The Miller Forty-fives made it to this seminal game of the winner's bracket by opening play on Thursday evening with a 9-0 win over RIP in the first round of tournament play. On Saturday afternoon it was the Miller Forty-fives defeating Entourage 8-7 in the second round of play before taking on and defeating Punch in the third round on Saturday evening 8-5 to earn their place in Sunday afternoon semifinal game against Windy City.
Late on Sunday afternoon Windy City and Hype tangled with one another in their first of three meeting on this Sunday with Hype gaining the upper hand defeating Windy City 2-0 to drop Windy City into the loser's bracket championship game.
Windy City was faced with a rematch with the Miller Forty-fives and they bounced back in the loser's bracket championship game to hand them their second defeat winning 7-2 to send the defending National champions home with third place from this tournament..
Windy City now faced unbeaten Hype needing to win two straight games over them to win the title and they set about doing that by winning the first game 11-6 to force the need to have the 'if necessary game' played between these two ball clubs in order to determine which of them would win the 2007 Chicagoland Championship Tournament.
The extra game belonged to Hype as they claimed the title and forced Windy City to accept second place from this tournament after hype won the deciding game over Windy City 11-3.
