3/28 - The ISA Nate Buddy kicked off the 2009 outdoor season in Crystal Lake with pool play on Saturday. Sun. weather cause the postponement of the completion of that tournament. - Photo’s in ‘Photo Album’

3/28 - Crush travel to Phoenix AZ and wins the ten team 'Maag Toy Foundation' 16" glove tournament by defeating Xtinct from Yuma, AZ 10-5 to win the title. - Team photo in Photo Album

4/4 - ASA Men’s C, Men’s D, & Men’s E Scheduled to be played at Melas Fields in Arlington Heights was postpone due to the weather

4/4 - Chicago Sixteen Inch Hall of Fame Ground Breaking for outdoor exhibit at Forest Park - Photo’s in ‘Photo Album’

4/4 - Illinois ASA Hall of Fame Induction Banquet was held in Decatur - Photo’s in ‘Photo Album’

4/4 - USSSA Men’s Class D In Sugar Grove played Sat. with eight teams left in the double elimination tournament when Sun. weather cause postponement of this event.

4/11 - Tapp City Crush Spring 16” Tournament held at Clyde Park in Cicero saw the Roadrunners 5-0 won the twenty three team event over Players, Inc (3-2) winning the championship game 8-1. - Photo’s in ‘Photo Album’

4/11 - ISA Men’s Class C, Men’s Class D, & Men’s Class E at Melas Fields in Arlington Heights. The eight team Class C title went to Precision (4-0) over Amish Mafia (3-2) 21-15 in the title game. The eight team Class D event KBI (6-1) as they came out of the losers bracket to stop Dave’s Pizza (3-2) 11-6 & 16-13 to take home the title. In Class E Liquor Box (5-1) won the five team tournament by double dipping O2 (2-2) 23-16 & 19-4. - Photo’s in Photo’s in ‘Photo Album’

4/18 & 19 - Windy City (5-0) stops the Roadrunners (3-1) 8-3 in the championship game to win the Elk Grove Village ‘Players Tournament’. Windy City took home $800 for their effort with the Roadrunners pocketing $400 for their second place finish Players Inc won the consolation bracket in this tournament..

4/18 - Dave’s Pizza from Bartonville won the USSSA Men’s Class D event held in Peoria with Team Buzz taking home second place.

4/18 - Coaches / Shirts & Logo from Milwaukee took home the title at the NSA Men’s Class B/C NIT held in Rockford with Full Tilt from Naperville bringing home second place.

4/18 - Chicago Hot Dogs won the NSA Men's Class D NIT held in Rockford with YEP! / Liquid Vanilla bringing home a second place finish.

4/18 & 19 - Afternoon rain forced the cancellation of the championship game between Commission (6-0) from Kankakee and Tommy Nevin's / Black & Blue (6-0) from Naperville at the ‘31st Annual Naperville Spring Tune-up Tournament‘. Pub II / P.A.L. (5-1) & the Wizards (5-1) finished in a tie for third place. Photo’s in ‘Photo Album’

4/18 - Longball Landscaping went a perfect 4-0 to win the five team ASA Men’s Class D round-robin tournament at the Itasca Park District fields in Itasca on April 18th. Voodoo Lounge (3-1) finished in second place. Longball Landscaping defeated Voodoo Lounge 16-10 in their head to head game.

4/25 - 10th Annual Claude Rhodes Tournament was played at Washington Park in Chicago with the 16” tournament championship game featuring the Slammers Vs the Young Guns being suspended due to rain in second inning. The game will be played at later date to be determine.

4/25 - 31st Annual 16” Naperville Spring Tune-up Tournament was stopped after two sets of pool play had been completed with rain also forcing the cancellation of Sunday single elimination tournament. Photo’s in Illinois Softball Report’s ‘Photo Album’.

4/25 & 26 - The 7th Annual Shirts & Logo’s USSSA B/C NIT was played in Joliet with Pope Transportation (3-0) from Whitewater, WI winning over runner-up EWS / Boombah / Sports PT / DLB (2-1) from Chicago 23-10 in the winner’s bracket championship game since one team was classified B and the other classified as a C team they each took home a berth to play at the 2009 USSSA World Tournament and six hundred dollars Sponsor travel money.

4/25 & 26 - In the 5th Annual Shirts & Logo’s USSSA Class D NIT the Wizards (7-0) from Schaumburg won the forty-three team NIT by stopping Blackhawk Athletic Club (5-2) from Rockford in the championship game 11-9. Both teams received paid USSSA Men‘s Class D World Tournament berths with the Wizards earning the Six hundred dollar sponsor travel money to go with their title.
